King & Country Museum Under Construction (2 Viewers)

Photo 2, This is a shot from the rear of the main room facing forward. At the very front, where you can see the airconditioning equipment, a wrap around banquet will be built. There will be a 12 foot long 4 foot wide platform for dioramas behind a 12 foot long banquet along the rear wall as well. In the left foreground of the photo you can see one of the three chimneys (the other two are in the two side rooms) which I am leaving exposed:

Photo 3, this is a shot of the "Aircraft room". You can see the second chimney in the center of the photo, flanked by two windows. The plywood at the bottom of the photo is part of the 12 foot long, 6 foot wide platform I had built for my RAF Airfield Diorama:

Photo 4, another photo of the aircraft room, with a better view of the platform for the RAF diorama:

Photo 5, this is a view into the room that will be my office. You can see the 3rd Chimney and one of the windows in the office (along with a ton of boxes of K&C):

Photo 6, this is a photo of the small diorama platform in the office (so I can enjoy my collection even when working):

Photo 7, this is a view of one of the knee walls, with one of the two doors to the storage space behind, and one of the airconditioning ducts visible:

Photo 8, this photo is a close up of the framing of the ceiling, with the electrical work visible:

Photo 9, this is a close up of a portion of the knee wall with one of the airconditioning ducts and one of the electrical outlets visible:

Louis and Brad,

Thanks for providing these pictures. They provide a very good starting point for the rest of us to visualize the project from start to finish. I am betting that the finished product will be a masterpiece! I certainly look forward to seeing it!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Very Cool - how much headroom will you have - the ceiling looks low?

Just about all of the sheetrock is up in the main room. Once all of the sheetrock is up (maybe tomorrow) I will take more photos and forward them to Brad to post.

By the looks of the vehicle in the first photo, K&C has come out with a new of 1:3 scale SUV's.

This is shot depicting the extent of the work in the aircraft room. The rear wall remains to be sheetrocked, and, of course, the work has to be taped and plastered. All of the sheetrock installation will be completed by Saturday, and sanding commences on Monday.

This photo is taken from the center of the main room, facing back. Along the back wall, below the windows, a 12 foot long 3 foot wide platform for displaying dioramas is being constructed, fronted by a second banquet for additional seating, covered with the same tapestry fabric. Down the center of the room will be three long library tables to hold additional dioramas. Along each of the knee walls will be 5 display cases spaced around 4 chairs for displays of figures and vehicles. Obviously the Strictly Limited 1:3 scale Hummer will be moved to a separate display area.
