KING TIGER tank question? (2 Viewers)

Thanks Alex, I decided to make do with talcum powder for now. I used to use chalk for temporary weathering and Winterizing but found that talcum powder was finer and more convenient to use.

Good modeling tip....Thanks

You should be able to get the unscented variety in a decent sports store as it's used to keep your hands dry in Tennis, Basketball etc, but you may well have some Baby Powder around the house which is the same thing, just with added 'freshness'. You could also use Corn Starch or even Flour in desperation.

As for colored pigments, they are sold in small but expensive containers in hobby shops, seems like everything in this hobby is getting more expensive. Most hardware stores have a variety of pigments to color cement for driveways, paths etc, I'm not sure if it's the same stuff but it works for me. Of course even the small hardware size is much more than you may need. However you could always package the remainder in smaller containers and sell them to gullible modellers on eBay, but don't forget my 10% :wink2:

I Never said the K&C figures didnt work. Digest the entire conversation not just certain passages. I also speak of price point and overall detail. Figarti and TCS work also. I just said for various reasons I think the TGM look best.

MY perference may be different than others. I am loyal to no manufacturer, I experiment and try all of the new products I can. I am currently doing a USAF diorama with ALL K&C products, because their figures fit well with their aircraft.

I am not a groupie for any manufacturer and I am flexible. I do what looks best to my eye in each project. This also helps my collecting as I set parameters for myself. I currently dont by any K&C figures with guns but I do buy others, I like TCS's action poses but they are generally larger than most, so I dontusually buy them and Figarti Figures are erratic so I dont usually buy them. That kind of leaves TGM and FL. This works for ME.

Here is Figarti, they look good too. These particular figures worked very well note their size as compared to the pic you posted with K&C and TGM. So there are always exceptions.

There are always exceptions. We would do well to point those out so that others may benefit.

This is a tedious subject for many to handle and I think I got away with enough already. I have many projects coming up which will highlight this concept, so I will point out the process as I construct them, I will introduce them here but the bulk of the process will be on the Battleground Art Forum where all of the International Society of Battleground Artists work is tightly grouped together with a commom purpose that creates an effective learning experience.

I will start a snow topic on our Forum shortly.

Also this way only those who have a keen interest in this aspect of the hobby have to tolerate us. :wink2::)

Alex

Don't go Alex, I would like to see you post some pics of FL figures close to TCS vehicles.

Not going anywhere just doing the more technical stuff on the Battleground Art forum, so it is all correlated in one spot for those who have the interest in that kind of stuff. I will post the final products here also.

I dont use FL with newer TCS...I use FL with FL - FIGARTi - JJD - TGM and some K&C

Btw guys, I did mention that Talcum Powder is same as Baby Powder.

Can not comment on King Tiger but one of the reasons I prefer their AFV to KC is size - they are so much more compatible with KC. You can see how with CS Panther looks good whilst the KC Sherman looks too small (though I believe this is an old Sherman)
