Neil...

Here is the first Konigstiger repainted. I still have to paint the barral end and, put some sepia wash on the wheel nuts and weather the tracks and, paint the locking mechanism on the turret hatches but, then it will be done. I know you wanted some progress shots.

Hope its Ok??

Neil...

Phew!!! Glad you like it. its not bad on the detail. The porsche one will be more clean looking similar to the colour plates in the books

Looks Very nice ! love the weather look !^&cool

Great work Mitch, i reckon the paint job looks better than the original CS Winter Konigstiger! {bravo}}

Guys...

Thanks for that first CS KT I have done and, they are a nice model to repaint.

Great job, Mitch. I would be proud to display that big cat!

Looks very nice, realistic as well. The shadowing will bring out the details. The barrel end? Some consider painting it black as unrealistic. Which way then? A darkened color where the heat has affected the paint.

Thanks. I use a smoke pigment for the end of the barral and fix it using a pigment fixer. This gives it more of a dull finish darker than a matt black.

Outstanding Mitch...thanks for sharing. I actually prefer your paint job much more than my original KT w/ zim.

Mitch,
Brilliant work as usual----WOW ! You really brought out the highlights of this AFV. Thanks for sharing the tip on how to 'blacken' the muzzle.

Neil...

The second Konigstiger repaint for your viewing. You wanted a winter white washed porsche variant and, it is harder to find these. However, here is tiger 314 of the Schwere Panzer abteilung 503 (Fledherrnhalle). I have three or four really good pics of this tank in the Szarkerestes area fighting in the winter battles late in WWII. It did not have a long life and, was scrapped for parts on or around the 4th April 1944

Completely different to the Henschel version as its had less time to weather out the white wash so, its more of a cold metal look with more grey blue and black used to weather the vehicle.
