Ladies & Gentlemen.................The Delhi Durbar (1 Viewer)

At long last some additions to the matte Delhi Durbar line arrived today :smile2:
The two sets of Emblembearers of Cutch.
Two very attractive sets, which add much to the display value of the line.
It is nice to see that they have a little variation between the two sets by sculpting different faces for the front riders, one with a full grey beard and the other one clean shaven.
There are only 300 of each made. Wonder if they sell out?
Konrad

Hi Konrad,

Most excellent! Tell me who are the Palms by? I really like the look of those and need to begin gathering info on scenics if I am ever going to get my Durbar display squared away.

Dave

The palm trees are by Dept 56, long retired, but you find them on ebay. They are in a perfect scale for the somewhat larger figures like the new matte Britains or K&C.
Got to watch the prices though, they can vary drastically :wink2:

Very nice Konrad, I also have both of them pre-ordered and I guess they should arrive within the next few days.

Did you pickup any of the street liners? I am waiting on those as they are not limited should will give me more time to save up for them.

Did not get any of the route liners as of yet.
The two buildings are next on my list for the matte Durbar and I did not determine yet, how many of the route liners I want to get or can get?
It would be nice to have a hint what will be next in the line and when, so a budget can be somewhat planned. Although those budgets usually never work :rolleyes2: :wink2: ^&grin
Konrad

Ah yes the good old budget LOL I am not sure how many route liners I need either as many as I can get I suppose. I would think at least 10 of each one would be nice. I am also having to put the buildings on hold as I have the two Zulu guns and the water cart coming out in the next 3 months. Oh well I will get there eventually :)

I just wish the releases weren't so up in the air, would have been nice to have had these spread throughout the year.

I see according to the WBritain website both of the Highlanders are out of stock already !! {sm3}{sm2}

I received both of my Emblem-Bearers of Cutch last night when I got home. They are beautiful and I was shocked by the weight to be honest.

Photos to follow later this evening.

I'm looking forward to those pictures Scott {bravo}}

Yes there are now enough figures released in this line to produce some nice setups, so hoping to see some, to inspire my own. Cheers, Robin.

Hi Guys:

The route liners are gone and dismouted Indian cavalry not far behind. The Camels are also down the last 10-20. I will rerun the route liners and Indian cavalry. This is good news for Durbar collectors - the support that this second release has received is excellent.

It would have been better for them to have come spaced out better - but at this point I was just happy to finally get them! But sorry for the clustering.

I am looking at another 6-8 figures for the 2012 Winter catalog. Mainly foot, possibly a mounted or two.

Be good,

Richard

Glad to hear they are doing well Richard, definitely need a second run of the route liners. I don't have any yet !!

Here are my camels :)

Hi Richard,

Congratulations! Clearly, the new Durbar figures are proving to be extraordinarily popular. It is nice to know the popularity of the series is strong.

Some of us, myself included, must purchase these figures slowly due to budgetary restrictions. I have purchased the limited edition camel riders, but have not yet been able to develop funding for the purchase of the route liners or the dismounted cavalry. Do you anticipate producing a sufficient number of figures in your second run that will satisfy the needs of collectors who want, but have not yet developed the resources, to purchase these figures in the coming months?

Thanks for considering my question!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :smile2:
