A few new toys:
My first Trophy Band
Larry,
That is a great set that I was aware of, but had never seen before. In my 1992 catalog it is listed under The HIGHLAND BRIGADE section, sub-section THE BANDS as set No. PD/B at a price code of Q3. It never mentions any particular regiment nor if it can be ordered with various regiments.
Martyn,
Those are incredible sets. Thanks for sharing. I may have misspoke earlier when I said the catalog didn't indicate which regiments could be made for these HIGHLAND BRIGADE sets. I found the catalog page where it says that the HIGHLAND BRIGADE could be custom painted with a choice of five different regiments with helmet and colors for most Victorian battles: Black Watch, Gordons, Seaforths, Camerons, and Argyll & Sutherlands. The five colors were Red (Tel-El-Kebir, etc.), Khaki (Egypt, Sudan, etc.), Drab (Afganistan), Grey (Tamai), and White (Raj Parade figures only). This means that there were 25 versions of each of the two bands!
Many thanks Mike
Here is THE HIGHLAND BRIGADE ON PARADE
The Black Watch Pipes and Drums, along with the Regimental band, are just about to March Past

Martyn,
You could have at least let me bask in my glory for a day Instead you upstage me once again, pitting my puny band with your army - but what a lovely army it is It seems to grow larger with every posting
Martyn and Lawrence: You need an army of these.
