NATAL LIGHT HORSE

First saw action in May 1879, commanded by Capt. W. Whalley ex. 17th Lancers
The core of the unit was drawn from the Frontier Light Horse and at one time comprised of 138 men, their largest action was at the Battle of Ulundi on July 4th 1879. As the original troopers were drawn from the FLH there uniform was heavily influenced by that of the FLH. Along with Martini-Henry and Snider carbines many men carried sabres and revolvers

Lawrence,

I think you are the first to describe Clive's Syndrome.

You could send a report to NEJM.^&grin

^&grin^&grin^&grin Used to think it was an inherited genetic trait - now it seems to be a contagious disease, especially prevalent among Trophy collectors - will need Damian's medical background to help solve this medical mystery :smile2:

Lawrence, beautiful Camel Corps sets along with Gordon {bravo}}

Union Troopers pursue rebel quarry.

By the way, the backgound is from Traverse Dioramics and it came out really well.

Thank you both. This is my first set of Union cavalry. I was hoping for more but fell asleep at the end of an ebay auction last week. Oh, well.

Hi Martyn,

Thanks very much for posting the picture of "Ole Douglas" and Edward Whittington. I looked up your previous post on the set description. The set ACW72TT was made on special commission for Trophy of Texas.

Cheers, Raymond.:)
