I finally got the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson Hansom Cab set I have long coveted, mint in the box, photos to follow upon receipt.:smile2: I think I might have purchased it for less than original retail . . . does anybody know what it originally sold for?
EGYPT and THE SUDAN series
set# TD2 - REVEILLE - ROYAL MARINES
This is a bit of a "Holy Grail" set as it very rarely appears for sale complete, I had been looking for it for some time.
I was very lucky to already own the Anglo Zulu War version
set# TD2 - REVEILLE - 24th FOOT
Cheers

Congratulations on the REVEILLE-ROYAL MARINES set Martyn, that is a great looking addition to your already fantastic collection ..... glad you were able to acquire your Holy Grail.

Martyn.
Great pick up, on your "Little Holy Grail". On to the next elusive set.
I was lucky to find the Private Shaving, but not the tree.

Strange coincidence that both soldiers cleaning a boot - seem to have a hole in their respective sock! Must be a common fault - as I seem to recall getting one there too! Certainly a "fun" set! jb
Many thanks jb ^&grin
Len told me that he liked to add a special little touch to a figure now and again, in a couple of his charging sets, namely the Indian Mutiny and Crimea War, he has a Private with a torn sleeve.
Cheers

I do know how he feels. If you are painting the same - or similar figures over and over again - it's nice to occasionally slip in something a little bit different. To me - Len's little addition - is a tiny bit of mischievous humour. Just love it! jb
Hi Martyn, see you have been busy then! ^&grin some nice sets there. ^&cool
