Not a bad choice for your first show 1879 it's the largest held on the East Coast and looking forward to your comments and photos on it.....The Lt.

Sorry to hear that Paul didn't attend the show Mike and no Trophy goodies were to be found but hope you enjoyed your first show. Did you by chance stop by to see if Conte was showing any of his Zulu War Series. Looking forward to seeing your photos..........Joe

Paul was at the Cantigny Show, but he did not bring any Little Legion. I will see him at the open house at Toy Soldier Shoppe at the end of November.

Black coffee wow. No cream even?

Damian,
Sorry, I can't stand having any adulterant in my coffee. If that makes me less of a man, I can live with that. I made the mistake one time of going to a Starbucks and, after noticing all these bizarre flavors, asking the gal to "please give me a regular coffee". She did and it had cream and sugar in it.
I threw it away since it was no longer fit to drink. Try black and join the club.

I went to a Starbucks once. I asked for a cup of cofee. Teh girl then asked me if I wanted Latte, Capuchino , Frappe or Iced. I said no I would just like some coffee. I am afraid I am a bit of a pleb when it comes to teh fine are to coffee tasting.
I am glad you enjoyed teh show. As far as Trophy Zulu stuff goes it seems like whatever is out there is getting snapped up. I see over on e bau a set of firing 24 th foot is reaching a failry wacking price.
Regards

Indeed! I just conversed with Mike Norris and he is going to give me some prices on 60th KRRC in the same casting as 24th. Realizing Mike is still in the "cottage-industry" phase of manufacture, Little Legion is primed to be the premier replacement for those of us who loved Trophy of Wales! I too saw the 24th line-up on ebay. $200 plus for a $100 set?!! Mike

Mike Norris is a great Welshman. Just like Len. Perhaps we should all get together and petition him for sets we want. He is a typical cottage industry though and you wait along time.

I think Little Legion makes the best glossy figures on the market today. Hopefully, collectors will continue to support small cottage manufatures like Little Legion. I believe the small manufatures of Toy Soldiers are the foundation of our hobby.

Brian,
I second that! Small business, even micro business is where the handcrafted
goods are made by the finest of artisans. Maybe we should get together as a co-op and ask Mike if he needs help in the US! Mike

I am a fan of Little Legion, I am collecting the Nap series, very nice range. But I would say that to me the best glossy figures on the market are now being made by Imperial Productions and Britains ( Classic Collection and Zulu War ).

A Natal Mounted Policeman lets his mount and a comrade's get a quenching of clean water after a picquette duty overnight on January 21, 1879. The NMP, the only full-time para-military unit in Natal, would suffer greviously the next day as most of the members were present at Isandlwana.

I have this set but with a Carbineer, picked it up last time I was at the Toy Soldier Shoppe. It is nice little set.

Great photo and set Mike along with the story line. More please.......The Lt.

Here's another view of my new .450 caliber Gatling Gun manned by members of the Naval Brigade. It includes a gunner, ammunition mate and officer from HMS Shah, all painted with love and care by Mike Norris et al. The gun is particularly top notch and heavy, enough to really piss off the ratings of the transport crew.

i like a lot that mike does but sometimes they just seem a little to shiny, this might be because i am used to trophy, but if mike could tone down the high sheen i know i as well as other old trophy collectors would jump on the little legion train full go. i did buy a nice mounted natal horseman and a couple of dervish calvary from paul hermann at ostn as they seemed to not have such high gloss. by the way if mike is reading this , i love my mounted brunswickers as they really set off one of my dioramas.
