London December 2012 show pics (1 Viewer)

It sounds as though you were there. Why not take a camera and take some photos to post on the forum?
It's nothing to do with multiple tables, colour brochures, metal / plastic or attempting to provide an accurate impression of the show.
I don't go to the show to purely take photos, I go for myself. If I can get a load of photos in the process and then spend ages resizing them and posting them, then that's a bonus for others, but it's not a duty bound service.

Hi Simon,

As others have said, and I second, we ( those that cannot attend the fairs ) are indebt with you all Froggers that do visit the fair and as you go throught the marvellous event ( one day I need to go to one myslef - but for sure my wife will confiscate my wallet ) go beyond call of duty and snaplots of pictures and share them in the Forum.
Whatever you guys can post is a bonus for us from far...hence..again thanks!
The volume of pics you and the rest of the team post by far out guns the amount of coverage that the maganizes publish. Having said that thanks again.......

Cheers
Luiz

I want to say a big thank you to all the UK members and others for the excellent coverage of the recent December 2012 London show. You guys are always outstanding in bringing to the forum a very comprehensive photo-report of the show.

To Rob, Jeff, Martyn, Andy, Simon, Bob as well as Dave (our moderator).....much appreciated. If I have inadvertently left anyone out, my sincere apologies and I thank you too.

Rob.....I shall wait patiently for you to publish your Amazon bestseller "Eat only Chocholate and Pasta for a slimmer you". (I love pasta too.....^&grin:tongue:)

Hi Rob,

Thank you for the kind response. I would love to have a signed copy of your book. Perhaps, you might consider including your recipe for Penne Arribiata in the Appendix. Now that would be delicious.....^&grin:tongue:.

I really hope to see you and the other merry band of UK members at one of the London shows in the not too distant future. We could compare waistlines, and I am sure you will be relieved to see that mine is bigger than yours.....^&grin:tongue:.

Cheers, Raymond :salute::

What can I say? No one covers a show as well as our mates across the pond. Fantastic coverage by the whole crew. Thank you Rob, Jeff, Simon, Gazza, Andy, Martyn, Dave, and anyone else I forgot for making the effort to tote a camera around, shoot all of these great pics, and then share them here. It looks like it was an amazing show! My favorite items in the pics were the items from TM Terrain, the K & C Easy 8 Sherman w/ Bulge troops, the frozen looking K & C Germans w/ great coats, the FL mounted Crusaders, Romans and Germanic tribesmen, and various connoisseur figures. Thanks again to all for sharing your time and show experience. :smile2:

You are very deservedly welcome Rob. Thanks for offering to do it all over again! I will try to return the favor by covering the Westcoaster, heath permitting.
Sometimes I get so energized at the show that I find it hard to shoot decent pics when I'm experiencing the show excitement and there's that toy soldier show buzz in the air w/ so many great folks around. But the your crew does an impeccable job. The shows in London are definitely the covered the best of all the shows, and I'm very appreciative of that! I actually feel the excitement in the pics and words. It's just all great fun. So bravo again to all of the contributors!:smile2: What a great time it must have been. I know it was for me, and I wasn't even there!

Angusprune, not sure why you seem to be negative towards what members post pictures of from the shows but if I remember correctly I saw ton of different companies represented at the London show and alot of plastics and others as well as metals, and that's the case with every london show that is covered by the fellows on this forum, they take alot of photos from all angles of the show, so as someone else mentioned if you feel the coverage is unfair grab a camera and snap some pics and post, isn't that hard...Sammy

We understand that you like plastic but the majority of us collect metal figures. Please lets just leave it at that. Your comments do grow tiresome.

The members of the forum don't have to post pictures at all (and I and others) are very appreciative of the fact that they do.

Perhaps a line such as :-

At the next show would it be possible to get some pics of what's available in the market place for plastics?

You'll always get more bees with honey than with vinegar.

Scott, as Sammy has just said its easy enough to grab a camera and go take some pics if our coverage is not up to expectations. :smile2: Glad most of you seemed to enjoy them anyway. And I'll make sure we get lots of plastics in March.

Dear Angusprune,

if I put myself in your place and consider me to be "crap with camera", meaning not being able to point it in a direction of what I want to see and push a button.
Or if I don't own a camera and therefor am not able to take any photos.
Or if I could take photos in some way, but then have difficulties to resize them properly and post them on the forum.
In any of the above cases, I would just keep a low profile and enjoy what is offered to me by a number of forum members, and I would appreciate what I get to see.

If I didn't get to see what I was hoping for, I would put in a polite request before the next show, if any of the members who do take photos on a regular base, could do me a favor and shoot some photos of the plastics that are offered. Several of the members who provide us with a great coverage do actually ask prior to the shows what subjects are requested.

You see, beside your sarcastic comments about subjects that are of interest to the majority of collectors on this forum, there are certainly different ways to deal with your disappointment about not getting to see the plastic figures you hoped for, don't you think? :wink2:

Some food for thoughts.

As a small one man manufacturer who doesn't book half a dozen tables or buy any advertisements in magazines I feel I must refute your comments with regard to the coverage of the London show. I happen to think that those who take the photographs, on a voluntary basis, do a marvellous job of showing the Treefroggers what is on offer. My stand is photographed on a regular basis and I am very grateful.

I suggest that if you want to see pictures of what else is on offer you take notice of what Kogu has said and ask someone to take the photographs of the stands you want for you, if you are not capable of doing it yourself.

Yeoman.

Wow
Anyone would thgink that all there was for sale on the day were factory painted netal figures - but we know different don't we kids ?
But I suppose the dealers in old collectables and plastics dont book half a dozern tables or buy full page colour adds in magazines!{sm2}

Well said that man! {bravo}} One thing a lot of people say is that actually if it was just about buying toy soldiers they could stay at home and order online, but in the last few years the social side of the London shows has grown and grown and is now a big driver for people going to the show.We all look forward to a laugh a chat and a few drinks three times a year very much indeed. Sadly this year we were missing regulars Alan and James but hope they can join us in March. I really hope you can make it in June Howard, because with the addition of your fellow countrymen and our friends from the US to the UK and visitors brigade it will be a great gathering of ' Froggers international ' . :wink2:

Best

Rob

well said rob, thats how ostn in chicago has turned out for me. it is great seeing all the folks at the shows and dinner. it would be great if a couple more of you froggers from england would make it over to chicago
