I taught for some years in a girls' school during which I had to teach a unit on puberty. I think you got off lightly!{sm4}

Jack,

One of the best lines I've read in awhile!

Try this one - there was a technical glitch one year with the printing ... the suggestion was that 'I should draw the diagrams on the board instead'!

Now that would have been loads of fun!{eek3}^&grin

I did indeed and it was a somewhat 'in-caps' childish over-reaction to KnC's nice new release of which I was man-handling in the shop yesterday.

However, and this may be controversial for the fan-Boys on here of which I claim membership, but petty name calling and and points scoring all in BOLD and especially the 'real military' part is not the way to respond. Neither is opening a new thread.

Many of us are business men/owners on here and I'd be mortified if I had allowed 20 odd words to affect me so much.

However, forums are for keyboard warriors, soldiers and more.

As one of the so called 'fan-boys' I understand your point, but would have to respectfully disagree.

Scott made a provocative post that deserved a response and he received one from the man himself. I personally have no issue with that or the way Andy delivered it.

It's actually great to see Andy standing up for his product and to be honest I wish he'd do it more often. Also starting a separate thread was the smart thing to do considering it was the K&C Dispatches thread and Scott's post was designed to provoke a negative response, which could very easily have overshadowed the entire thread.

I'm also over all this PC nonsense as well, where some think there is a requirement to bow and curtsy every time you want to address someone on here. Sure there are rules and rightly so, but this isn't a boardroom nor is it a kindergarten, we're all adults and when I last looked was a place for discussion.

Chris, is that a 1903 Springfield between the two M1 Garands? Quite an arsenal!
I was trying to ID it also. I think it's a Mauser. He also has what appears to be a 3rd Garand in the back row. Great collection. -- Al

Like Texas, we take our shooting sports seriously here in Ol' Kentucky. Some of my collection I take to the ranges occasionally, ignore the bayonet lugs. :wink2: Chris

Sweet looking collection Chris!!! and I'm not talking about the airplanes even though they are just as sweet!!!...Sammy

Chris, are those B-25's the 1/48 Armour? I recognize the very fine TGM Rumpler at the bottom.:wink2: -- Al

Al, Sammy, it is a K98 Mauser between the M1s and three more in the rear row along with an Arisaka (with Mum). The 1903 Springfield is in the far rack out of view next to the two Krags. A breech loading Springfield, repro Brown Bess, anotherM1 and Lee Enfield are also in the far rack. Chris

Now considering that you use the word 'Large', 'Huge' and 'Big' descriptively often, one wonders, using yourself as the example, if the said diagrams would've fitted on the blackboard.......:wink2:

It seems some think that toy soldiers are only for those who chose to join the "real" military?
I've ever heard anything so ridiculous. There's a lot of people need to grow up out there and remember... It's just a love of history and toy soldiers. Nothing more.
Keep your discussions on assault weapons to some other niche forum.

Please explain what makes a rifle an "Assault Weapon," Sir....

LOL

Just for clarity, I do not believe that any state defines a true M1 Carbine as an assault weapon. The M1A1 is a bit more fuzzy, on the other hand.
I am just writing this from a legal perspective... I do not endorse the concept of the "assault weapon" distinction.

...This all started with one guy posting about hysterical rather than historical accuracy.

Now we've turned the Keyboard Commandos against the Royal Marine Commandos, Dad's Army versus the US Army, the Stitch Nazis against... well, the Nazis!

"Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now!"

I don't think that the manufacturers deliberately go out trying to sculpt, paint, or otherwise take excessive creative license in creating period specific toy soldiers, and they overall do some excellent work. Civil tones go a lot farther in advancing your case for accuracy or other critiques. Booboo lip in a shark tank like this is simply chum in the water, and the manufacturers who participate in these boards are humans too! Colors will be off, the deck of a Sherman will be too low by a millimeter or two, a beret badge will be wrong... you've got a few choices... let it ride, do it better yourself, take your money and interest to another hobby or part of this one.

Some fantastic willy waving on this thread. Just opened popcorn and await more.

Especially like the use of bold and caps {sm4}:salute::

BOLD and in caps in response to some questioning how many forum members have actual prior military experience. There are quite a number of us.
