WELL WELL WELL...............phhhhhheeewww I LOOOVVVEEE the London show and thats as an organiser!!!
Lack of sleep, good drink........they now even stock Jim Beam because of me! get in! great people and great traders.
We get in on Thursday and to follow on from my earlier post it was very very sureal seeing Chris Mckenna stroll across the lobby....with a big HEY DUDE!
this guy is an awesome bloke and also a great collector to talk to with regard the product.
We downed a drink after our long drive avoiding as many of Robs booby traps as possible and then quickly changed.
we took Chris to Covent garden and had a great meal and a few drinks. Introduced him to Potted Shrimps and Bangers and mash!
We then walked up through Leicester Square, Picadilly and by which point Mum and dad were flagging. So they shot off in cab whilst myself, dispatch Dave and Chris walked on down to the Mall. we then took a left to tak in Trafalger Square before heading down white hall and eventually Houses of Parliment. Chris thought it was awesome. Walked along the embankment and looked at the great WWII Battle of Britain memorial a very very good brass to look at.
Friday was then up with the larks and a quick breakfast follwed by a day of playing soldiers. Chris enjoyed (i add we did not ask him to help he wanted to!!) setting up the figures.
Friday night we head to our normal Italian for the stomache liner before heading back to the hotel bar.
As Rob (UKREB)said nice to say hi and put a face to the name. And it was only a controlled few!
Early morning in London 4.30am is fun! and thank god it was dry! we headed out and put the banners up and then round the streets putting the signs up.
a very very quick breakie and then the early birds start............. always a good chat to be had with Rob (ROB) we always manage to put the worlds to right!
helped him distroy his buying plan within 20secs!
Did glimpse UKREB woundering around but always to far to shout. Had a nice chat with UKBOD (Andy) with regards the crimean and thanks for the pisture on here Andy.
Met John O'Brien from Perth in Australia who thought the show was amazing. Was excellent to meet guys from the other side of the world who collect. Meta couple of Candians as well.
A lot of traders said a very good day and better than last March and what was areally really cool was we had some great feedback about a lot of new customers.
There were i agree a lot of new faces and even better was to see a lot of kids with their dads.
Andy Neilson had sent over a MG figure for a great kid called John (see K&C UK videos from December) it was signed and dated. Johns eyes nearly popped out of his head when i gave him the figure he was blown away. There is another collector! for good
ALL IN ALL a great show and getting busier and better each time
