March London show (2 Viewers)

Next on the hit list was Little Legion as I don't know how accessible these figures are across the pond.

I took an overview shot and a couple of the "alledged" newer sets - anyone want any particular shots done next time in June let me know.

Britains were there in force and I'm still awaiting my matte Zulu War series with rabid anticipation. Again there was nothing on the new Conte Zulu War series another must-have ( I hope everyone else has a lot of must-have's otherwise it makes me sound like a 2-year old at the opening of a sweets megastore- " I want that and that and that and.....).

So in conclusion a good day, again with yet more wants - this London show has really taken off under the K&C UK team with more stalls and bigger crowds. It's good to see, especially with a younger generation that were apparent today. What did I buy, well a CS 222, Figarti PZIV and Infantry Set, JJD BOS Indians Set III and 2 JD Arnhem Buildings and a ruins set. What am I after next, a Winter Chafee, Elephant, more Arnhem buildings and more Crimean War figures.

Rgds

Andy:D

Thanks Andy for taking along your camera and photosalong with your highlights of the show. Would have been fun joining you along with the other Treefrog attendees.......The Lt.

Great job Andy. Did Little Legion have any new figures for the Sudan or anything for India? If you have any photos, would like to see them.

Andy,

Great report and photos. Many thanks for taking the time. I think your photos have sold me on the JG Arnhem building sets (like I need much selling...) and the TM's David has done a superb job on the Hartenstein Hotel - that one might be a bit out of my price bracket though.

Cheers
Simon

Just got back with my Normandy set :D
First time to a toy soldier show as well
Some great looking diorama building worth buying to ;)

You'll have to get it all set up and snap some shots. I imagine it will look fantastic.

Andy,

There is a Chaffee on Ebay Germany. It looks to be without figures, however, but the price is good. Here's the link

WOW! What a show. Thanks Andy for the report and photos.

TRL masters are awesome. I was already hooked to the Charge and now it will be impossible to resist to that new range.

Glad that I had preordered a Panzer IV (Figarti) two weeks ago. I wasn't too sure but with your comments now, no doubts I took the good decision.

First Legion Napoleonics are very well done and as they have the intention to release everything, starting with Bavarian regiments or any other ones... (see: http://www.canadatoysoldiersclub.com/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=27&thread_id=671).

Little Legion figures/sets are simply beautiful.

Thanks again.

Pierre.

Another newcomer to the UK show was Last Legion Napoleonic which again were of a good quality and in the same price range as K&C, not for me though but curious as to why they bring out a Bavarian regiment first. I would have fought a French Guard/Line regiment and a British Guard/Line regiment would have been a better choice. I'm probably wrong though....

Ahem..First Legion! :D

We brought out the two Bavarian regiments first just to do something different that we haven't seen elsewhere and to show that we're not going to simply deal in the same old same old when it comes to Napoleonics. Our intention is really to do most everything as Pierre pointed out. Our next releases, however are 9 Figures of the French Old Guard and 29 (yes 29)figures of French Line infantry including fusiliers, grenadiers, voltigeurs and command. We also have the long awaited Napoleon and Staff Set as well as 14 different British Guards figures following shortly after the french line infantry among other things, including a few surprises. So, we'll get the basics covered!

NAPcommand.jpg

4 Command of the 61st French Line to be released

frenchline2.jpg

10 of the 29 French Line figures to be released - 7 fusiliers of the 61st Line and 3 Fusiliers of the 57th Line

commandandvolts.jpg

4 of the 29 French Line Infantry to be released - 57th Line Command and Voltigeurs of the 85th Line

You can check out our Workbench to see what's coming in terms of figures and our 54mm Gallery to see many more images of the painted figures.

Excellent report by the way. I agree that TM's Hartenstein is just AMAZING.

Best,

Matt

Thanks for the pics UK Bod,superb shots. This was a great show, really enjoyable. Was good to catch up with all the guys at K&C UK,Clive at Figarti,James and his mum,Mark at TM terrain and also very nice to meet Chris(Mckenna77) who flew in specially for the show.

I have never felt so spoilt for choice regarding quality in my field of collecting.I got there at 7.30am for early doors and headed straight to K&C UK.Had a good chat with Tony and the guys and got to drool over their stunning display.I also got my first glimpse of the Thin Red line masters, what can i say guys but superb.Lovely figures indeed.I also got my first glimpse of the new MKIV and it really is a very nice tank, definetly a must have(i know James couldn't resist it and got the AK version).

After a looooong while deciding what to buy i went to see Clive at Figarti.Got to say guys that new MKIV is a fantastic vehicle and i couldn't wait to get my hands on one.Clive has a great layout and the new Long Tom is another one thats high on my list.Good job Clive is such an honest bloke,i walked off and left him my credit card!!:D

I then headed over to TM Terrain and once again saw some great items on display. The two new Collectors showcase vehicles are spot on in my opinion, both the 222 and the Marder would look good in any collection and i understand were selling fast.

I then went over to JG Miniatures.Well the easiest way to say it is that before the show i was a display man and now i am a display and dio man!.The new Arnhem building in UK Bods pics is just so cool, really brings out the best in Andy's Arnhem troops.I am now making space in my office for a couple of these buildings, had to be done!.

I also checked out Britains,Little Legion,Conte collectables. These are all producing very nice soldiers especially Britains new Zulu stuff whose Matt Zulu's look wonderful figures.

And what did i come away with?;).I got the new Arnhem anti Tank gun from K&C UK,along with the D Day Jeep and the Stuart Tank. From Figarti i got the MKIV(by the time James got his one Clive only had one left!).I also picked up some beach obstacles and ammo boxes from JG.

Finally after a wonderful day and a lovely Pastie and mince pie from Dispatch Daves mum (thank you ever so much, your so kind :))i left at 2pm.

My only regret was that despite walking round for hours i didn't bump into UK Reb,sorry mate hope to meet you at the next one.

Sorry i couldn't post this sooner guys but i didn't come home last night, we got diverted on the way.

Thanks to all

Rob

Mark and I arrived back from the show just in time to catch the football. I was so exhausted that I forgot about the hour going on tonight so I I have had some explaining to do when I returned the rented van back an hour late!

Anyway, a great show. I thought March was the quiet one! I don't think I got away from the stand until about 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

All the ranges we had on display went down well. The new CS Arnhem range got lots of great comments as did the new Zouarves.
JJD figures go from strength to strength with all the codes selling well.
It was great to get the First Legion figures in front of everyone to see them in the flesh. Their debut was very successful! I am already thinking of the diorama for the next show- with the planned releases they have it will have to be spectacular.

I was pleased how our stand looked. We now have 24 feet of display and I am able to fill it with dioramas and it makes the effort worthwhile with the comments we get over the day. All the dios I do are for sale on the day. I like to try to sell one or two a show so that it forces me to make fresh ones for the next show so the stand always has something new to look at. I didn't sell any this time but the hotel was a commission so I will have a 4 foot space to fill for June.
I have added some pics (I haven't added pics before so I hope I get it right!- I can make a dio but not too hot with anything electrical!) of the hotel that I took with the CS Arnhem range the week before the show. They will go on the web site (eventually). We are redeveloping the site so it may be some time!

Overall. another great show and can't wait for June.

Wow

Thanks for the report lads, certainly seems like it was a great show.

Dave that hotel looks simply amazing :)

Also yesterday i noticed for the first time that Modellers loft were there, with their extensive action man display.

Rob

David,

Your Hartenstein Hotel is an absolute work of art. I saw the K&C one done by Gordon Neilson in person, and yours is every bit as good. Between You, Gordon, and the folks at JG Miniatures, there are more talented diorama makers in this hobby than I ever imagined was possible. Just for my own information, how much would commissioning an identical hotel cost (you can PM me if you don't want to announce the price publically)?

Hey Louis, are you picturing one in your museum?.Got to be the ultimate dio in the ultimate location:).

Rob

That hotel is incredible, a great job. Wish I had the space or could afford one.

Brad,

Sorry, didn't get any information on any of their other new releases (Little Legion). To busy trying to get around to all the other tables before I had to go back.

Apologies

Andy

The action man display did bring a tear to the eye......memories...

Andy

Just back from London and cannot add much from what UKBOD and Rob have already posted.
Drove over to the Royal National Friday night for a couple of jars with Mark and David from TMTerrain-thanks guys enjoyed our chat- also met Tony there holding court and sinking "just a few".
Got to the show about 10-30-the lady who sold me the tickets told me I was the first to ask for a tree-frog identification badge????. Got to admit I was there for at least a couple of hours and never saw another frogger or one wearing a badge. Rob I did see the back of you leaving Entrance A-gave you a shout as at the time I was negotiating with a dealer for a couple of sets for Kilted Vamp-never saw you again after that and I did look in both Halls . But you was lugging a pretty large bag :D

Bought a few Conte/Frontline sets and a couple of John Jenkins, had a long chat with John Gittens from JG Miniatures but the high-light of the show was indeed David's Arnhem Hotel an absolute knock-out.
I'm sorry too Rob we didn't get that chat but there's always June :D
