I bought the Life of Jesus series a couple of weeks ago and thought they might look good in a market square diorama...Andy said he plans to extend this series...I hope we get a lot more civilian figures...as I like these especially...this was a lot of fun to make...I'm still not as happy as I could be with the canopy...but I'll figure something out...

Incredible!!!!! No, that is an under statement. How about ... "HOLY Mackerel". A problem with the Canopy???? What?????

This is truly terrific Michael. It really has turned out great. I love how you put the some of the animals eating leaves off the trees. Nice.

If anything else the dio would work well for a WWII North Africa scene. {sm2} Nice job on the dio !!!

A beautiful work Mike. Animals eating the plants is inspired. Chris

Beautiful job, Michael, as always. This was a great idea which you executed brilliantly. Very impressive. That kneeling Arab talking to the little lamb is cute and I like the way you have several of the animals eating the plants by the building. By the way, what are those plants with the nice leaves on them? Are they real plants? They look great. Thanks for showing us your excellent work.

Michael, I just had the somewhat humerous thought that if those plants the animals are eating are real, your diorama has a limited lifespan...or you could continually replace them. Anyway, they sure look great. Where can I get some? Thanks.

I also think this is just excellent and noticed the animals dining on the plants right away. Great idea!

That looks awesome Mike one day i will get to your level of dio,s thanks mate great pics.

Michael
very nice !! at last something different than the normal battle scenes we usually see.
As far as your canopy is concerned try a heavy paper handkerchief.Take some white glue and delute the glue with water. Dap your paper handkerchief in it. You can give your canopy any form you want . Let it dry completely. When fully dry paint it. This method gives a satisfactory effect.

Mike, your a dab hand at this sort of thing!

Thank you guys very much for the nice compliments...

I also collect K&C's Crusader/Saracen series and JJD's Sudan series...

I think both of them can work in this diorama...

I will redo the canopy and show some photos of it when I finish it...

I hope Andy gets some ideas for some new figures if he looks at it...

I also ordered the figure..."Arab Guide"...NE002...from Napoleon in Egypt for it....I think he will fit in nicely...

Michael, that Arab guide is a progressive sort of guy. I have that figure and after careful examination with a magnifier, I believe he has a flintlock pistol in his belt, but it's practically impossible to figure out what that thing is, so he will blend in very well with your pre-gunpowder-days Arab village scene or the Crusades. He's a colorful, very nice middle east figure. You should definately order that one.

Mike,

This is so well done it's incredible. Your creativity is magnificent! I have found that all these figures are quite versatile but you have made excellent use of them here. Great job!!

Mark

Beautiful dio Michael:salute:::salute:::salute::

Cheers
