This is my battle on The Plains of Abraham. Both commanders were fatally wounded. General Wolfe for the British and General Montcalm for the French. The British prevailed and went on to capture Quebec. Greg.

This looks great. The Jenkins troops really shine when you put them in clusters with some vignettes. What kind of grass do you use? I like that you cover the bases of the figures.

Wow Greg, what a great job you've done with this diorama. Really impressive :salute:::salute:::salute::

Really a fantastic job. Massed numbers are always impressive as it's fun spotting all the different units. The wooded groundwork is very well done. -- Al

The massed troops, background and terrain all work so well together. Very impressive display. CHris

You certainly have hit this series hard Greg. The terrain and backdrop set the scene so well. Few could equal this collection. Very nice. Robin.

Lots to like about your diorama. The beach scene, ground cover, backdrop and the variety and placement of figures used. My second time looking, I'm sure there will be more.

Steve

Very nice indeed! Great use of the figures. You created an outstanding battle scene here.

Thanks all for the responses and likes. Most of these figures are long retired and this collection and diorama has been a long term project over many years. Picking up old stock from my dealer, finding figures on ebay, winning auctions, all sources of my collecting. So it has been rewarding to finally be able to show it. The grass used Andanna is a common product found in hobby shops. Heki was the brand I think. Regards Greg.

Outstanding diorama! Thanks for sharing your work. I've always liked this series and regret not collecting it.

Wow this is really well done. Great use of the Indians, and the backdrop blends right into the scene. Excellent work.

Stunning work Greg, thanks for taking the time to share.

You must have had a stack of fun setting it all up!

Well done. I've been to the battlefield many times over the years and you have captured the feel of what it must have been like back then.

Terry

Thanks Toddy and Terry, I've been working on the diorama for a few years, picking up figures when I could. By the likes and responses it was well received and the massed formations was a contributing factor. Hope to see you in Brisbane next year Todd. Regards Greg.

Greg...
I got time to take a really good look at your display...
this is fantastic...such detail...
I love so many things about it...
the groundwork...
the plumes of smoke coming from the muskets...
the Ranger's whaleboat and the British barge...
the figure of Wolfe dying...
the wounded Montcalm figure...
this is the history of America and Britain told in toy soldiers...
excellent effort...this is sweet!

Montcalm was a genius...
he usually won his battles with inferior supplies and men...
if he had better resources...
America might be speaking French today...^&grin

was this his only defeat?
