This is a special commission Hiriart set that I received in February. It has subsequently been added to the regular Hiriart catalog as set 1363 WORLD WAR II BRITISH 1ST AIRBORNE DIVISION.

In February, I received a special commission Hiriart set that I had ordered to start my Balkan War collection. I believe that this set of BULGARIAN INFANTRY, BALKAN WAR, 1912 may be my favorite of the dozen or so previously ordered special commissions from Hiriart. Guillermo liked it too, since he has subsequently added it to their catalog as set No. 1364. However, I believe that the officer flag beater should be in a green uniform, as is the other officer, so I am ordering another set that way in the future.

The other Balkan War special commission set that I received from Hiriart and received in February was GREEK INFANTRY, BALKAN WAR, 1912. It was added to the catalog as set 1365. I had sent Hiriart several different color plates of Greek infantry and scouts. These are actually the scouts.

This is a new, Hiriart non-catalog set of TURKISH ARTILLERY, 1912 that I received in July.

Mike,
Hi.
I really appreciate your thread on Hiriart.
Do you think Hiriart would ever make a set of Greek artillery for the Balkan Wars?
Thanks,
MikeNick

Hi Mike,

I am glad you like it. It would depend on how many other collectors were interested. The 2015 Hiriart order is closed, so about this time next year, I can send a "show of interest" email out to my Hiriart mailing list to see if anyone else is interested.

Hello Mike,

what can one say? Great stuff as usual, good to see some of the not so well covered military units - that truly is HIRIARTS speciality. Enjoying this thread for quite some time and hope that it will run forever. Thank you again for shareing.
Kind regards
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Thanks. One of the main reasons that Bob Walker and I both like and collect Hiriart is that, just as you noted, they make less well covered military units. They also specialize in sets inspired by old Britains. I too hope that this thread can run forever, but since I am mortal and will be 73-years-old next year, that isn't likely to happen, however I am glad to share for as long as I can.

Another February addition to my collect is Hiriart set 1344 WWII EIGHTH ARMY, NORTH AFRICA, W/MONTGOMERY. By using a basic charging casting with three different heads, they represent British, Australian, and Indian Eighth Army troops.

And they all are going after Monty, he must have been very popular. seriously it is a nice set .

In February I received a special repaint of Hiriart set 1357 FORCE PUBLIQUE, BELGIAN CONGO, 1914 which has the figures wearing field uniforms rather than dress uniforms, as in the standard catalog set.

Well done Mike (and Bob) - you keep posting - and at least some of us will keep watching - though being North of 70 myself - it's a toss up as to who will give up first!!!:D{sm2} jb^&grin

In February, I received Hiriart set 1362 CRETAN GENDARMERIE, SALONICA, 1912 which is part of their Balkan War series.

Man this company covers some really interesting eras and units! Talk about obscure but I love the detail and of course the glossy paint! Thanks for sharing them Mike.
