Another Hiriart February delivery was a special commission set of the RUSSIAN IMPERIAL GUARD GRODNO HUSSARS, 1915. Note how the pelisse is worn on the back rather than over the shoulder. Later this year, I expect to receive another special commission set of RUSSIAN IMPERIAL GUARD LIFE GUARDS.

About 10 or 15 years ago, Frontline Figures came out with a series called WARRIORS OF THE ANCIENT WORLD. They were boxed sets of six-figures each with six different warriors in each set. The six-figure sets were numbered AC.1 through AC.10. There was also a set AC.11 which had a single figure of Alexander the Great and a set BAC.1 which had an Egyptian Chariot with two horses and two men. I bought all of them from Gerard at the West Coaster and Chicago Shows and put them in storage until recently when I broke them out and displayed them in my Frontline display curio. The exception is the Egyptian chariot set which I gave to my niece who had travelled to Egypt with me, my wife, and sister (her mother) in 2007.

I was inspired to display them when I recently saw several sets on eBay which reminded me that I had stored them away years ago. Here is a general photo of the entire 61 figure AC series on the second and third tiers of a shelf. The mounted figures on the first (front) tier are not from this series while the fourth (top) tier has Seven Years War (French & Indian War) sets.

Hi Mike,

While I really like those warrior sets I liked the dervish assault on the British square under them even more. How about some photos of that display?

Hi Dave,

Thanks, I am glad you like them. I am working my way through my collection shelf by shelf to clean up after the earthquake. I had run out of tacky wax, but I am now ready to work on the Frontline British square and dervishes. I will photograph it for you when I get it set back up again.

Mike

Frontline Figures Seven Years War series Prussians. Great flags in this series. This series is currently in production. I hope to pick up Austrians and Russians in February from Gerard at the West Coaster.

Here is a second photo of the Prussians which includes the two figures on the right which were cut out of the previous photo. The flash was a little out of synch with the shutter.
