Once again it has been driven home to me why I don't bet sports. 4 series and I only picked the Philly series correctly. Never expected that the Rays, Blue Jays, and Brewers would all be swept out, or even just lose. Figured the Phils to sweep but the rest surprised me. -- Al
 
I would not want to be playing the Phillies in front of that crowd. I don't remember the Philly crowd being that raucous in past years. They look very good. Tough break for the Braves to get them.

The D Backs make me nervous for LA.

LOVE that the O's are the TOP SEED for the AL.

Gonna be some interesting programming decisions this Saturday given the monster NCAA Football games and 1 oclock starts with baseball playoffs. You got OSU/ Maryland at noon and then Rangers/O's at 1.

The Orioles played a 3 game series there I think in July?? August?? And it was fantastic series!!!!! Phillies won the series 2 of 3 after the Orioles gave up the winning run in game 3 in the 9th🙄 should have won that series....but all 3 games were sold out and it was a playoff atmosphere all 3 games.

Past is not prologue. However the Braves won the division by 14 games, with Philly second. Also Atlanta won the season series 8-5

Some of those crowd shots looked like the yard at Rikers Island.

Best of luck to the Braves; they are battle tested and this is not their first rodeo, just take care of business, stay within themselves and don't try to do too much and they'll be fine.

Burned again as only 1 of the 4 games went the way I guessed, with only the Astros winning. My O's lose, Kershaw got ambushed, and The Braves pulled a big zero. Huge Game 2 for the O's. Down 2-0 is DOA. Really like the way Philly is going, being led by the Philly Nats mafia. -- Al
 
If you are going to lose, then lose big is the motto of Dodgers. LOL. None of those runs carry over to the next game. I felt bad for Kershaw. His playoff woes never end. With that said, the team on the end of a blowout typically comes back to win the next game. All three teams with over 100 wins lost at home. I've seen this movie too many times as a Dodger fan. The hot team comes into the playoffs and the team that has dominated the season goes down.
 
There is a theory that that teams that get a bye get too relaxed and are a little flat not playing in a week.

Leave it to MLB to screw up the playoff format by being greedy and allowing 6 teams to get in.

You get what you get yesterday; 3 100 win teams losing due to rust, seems like more often than not the past few years a wild card team that played like hot garbage most of the year gets hot the last month of the season, gets into the playoffs and goes on a roll.

I want to see the two best teams squaring off for all the marbles, two 100 win teams, not two wild card teams.

Call me old fashioned, I used to love the drama of two division winners squaring off for the right to move on to the World Series, not some watered down version.

he was very much on point ...didnt even last 2 innings ........and we left the bases loaded in the first with 0 runs
