There have recently been a couple of models that King and Country put on the market which depict characters and military vehicles as they appeared in big budget war films.
Personaly I like history so I prefer models based on real historical vehicles and uniforms, and not on what a filmaker showed in a film.
To be clear I have nothing against collecting film items. I myself used to collect Starwars figures and accessories. But what I feel is a little inapropriate is when items made up for films are mixed in with models which are taken from historicaly accurate World War two vehicles, uniforms etc.
I would like to humbly ask King and Country to create its own category for models based on films. If we have World of Dickens for models and buildings based on books why not have a new category „World of war films“?

I think that is a good approach, especially if they plan to expand the line, which I would like to see them do.

As long as K&C produce the balance of the Dad's Army figures, do not mind where they turn up, FOB or another heading. ^&grin, Robin.

Ever since I saw the sneak previews of the primed castings (1st picture) at the recent West Coaster, I can't wait to set up some scenes from the many movies about "The Three Musketeers". One of them shown in the 2nd picture.
And if they come in a new category or under "Pike and Musket", that doesn't matter :wink2:, as long as they come ^&grin
Happy Collecting!

I believe they have been segregated as a gang of heroes and not mixed in. Are you talking about the item numbering?

Hi Guys,

On the subject of creating a separate individual category for WW2 items that are based or related to war movies I spoke to more than a few regular K&C collectors at the recent “West Coaster” Show and also several dealers after the show about this very topic.

The majority (by far) had no problem with keeping the models all together as opposed to creating a whole new category. So, for the moment, we’ll stay with what we originally decided. However, many thanks for your thoughts guys and we will continue to monitor the responses.

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy
