I just got one of the coolest pieces I have ever bought...

Dave at Traverse just sent me this piece..."The Mountain Pass"...

Treefrog has them listed in their inventory as "retired"...but ready for sale also...so I'm pretty sure you can get them from Shannon and Peter...

this thing is huge and priced really nice...the detail is sweet...perfect for a shelf or cabinet diorama...

from talking to Dave...he is one of the friendliest guys to work with...he seems really concerned with his product...he told me of some new products he has coming out...

I love this piece...it's huge and makes the greatest backdrop to display your figures...it's highly detailed and priced really nice...

it's a two section piece...so it can be used a lot of ways...the entire cliff is removeable...so it's really versatile for photographing...

if this doesn't put you in the mind of the Last of the Mohicans cliff scene at the end of the movie...nothing on the market will...

all I did was sprinkle some dirt on it...add a couple of shrubs and some broken wood pieces...throw on some JJD figures and 2 wagons...and it was ready to shoot...but that's just me...the piece stands alone very attractively without any props...

I'm totally impressed with this piece...

I think it was designed for the "Hot Gates" at the Battle of Thermopylae...but I may be wrong...either way this is a really versatile piece for any era you can imagine...

I can see my FIW...Crusaders...Gordons and even Jacobites fighting on this cliff...

great job David!!!

Great pick up Michael. I met David Bonick at the Chicago OTSN show and enjoyed his room where he was displaying and selling his Traverse Dioramics products. His new line (called Hatchet Creek) of early American Homestead farm buildings is outstanding. I ended up purchasing the Farmhouse and the Smokehouse to use in my diorama photo shoots as pictured below. Just a very nice young man with a great product line. Besides the Mountain Pass you have Michael, and the Hatchet Creek farmstead buildings, he also has available a 3 part model of Devil's Den at Gettysburg. . . . . . David's web site is www.traversedioramics.com

:) Mike

Mike...I saw your building..it looks like a great purchase and goes perfect on your table...I had seen his stuff first hand at the San Antonio show and was impressed...but this is my first purchase from him...I also ordered one of his backdrops...but he shipped it seperate...I don't think the "Devil's Den would work with my figures...too many rivet counters on here would ruin it for me...hahaha...I think Peter and Shannon here at treefrog are selling these pieces...

That is so cool! I am really liking this company's products. Already have the house and smokehouse high on my list.

I think the only word I have is EPIC!

Superb piece and lovely set-up. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Michael :salute::

That Mountain Pass would be perfect for a Hlobane, Zululand dio

Cheers

ty Sandor...ty 6th...this is a nice piece...I think you would enjoy it...

Frank...your pictures are what spurred me to order it...

ty Carlos...ty Wayne...ty Adam...

Martyn...Papa Zulu asked me for Traverse's phone number yesterday...I think he also plans to use it if he decides to collect the Conte North West Frontier...it could easily pass for an Afganistan mountain terrain also...

Martyn...Guiseppe is ahead of both of us...it's a versatile piece...I just put some K&C Crusaders on it and took a picture...his NWF and Zulus should be right at home in this rocky terrain...

Thanks, all, for your enthusiasm. I'm glad you're enjoying our scenics. I'm enlessly fascinated by the land: rock formations, canyons, rivers, forests, lakes...works of the original Artist. I find it great fun to try and capture a little of their magic in miniature. I hope that shows in our products.

Mike M.: The JJD and Mt. Pass pics look great. I like what you did with the shrubbery and dirt.

Mike E.: My favorite shots yet of farm and smokehouse!

Frank: Thanks for the room pictorial. As I forgot to bring my camera this year, I'm glad someone captured it.

Best to all,
Dave
