HELLBOY: THE CROOKED MAN---the reboot movie is being co-written by creator Mike Mignola. The plot has Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent in 1950s rural Appalachia where they battle witches led by the Crooked Man, a war profiteer who was hanged and returned as a devil.
BACK TO THE FUTURE---Lea Thompson posted a photo of the reunion of Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson and herself at Fan Expo in Portland, Oregon.
FRASIER---Kelsey Grammer said the revival series will pay tribute to the late Kirstie Ally by having a character similar to her Rebecca Howe character on CHEERS, "When Kirstie died, I was pretty upset about it because I really loved her. She was a magnificent person (and gave) a wonderful performance in CHEERS. She was remarkable – I mean, the stuff she could pull off. So I did say to the writers of this incarnation of 'Frasier,' I said, 'If we find a character that can do what Kirstie Alley did in CHEERS, we will be a very lucky group of people.' So it is in the back of our minds."
STAR WARS---Liam Neeson has reversed his desire to return as Qui-Gon Jinn after stating last year he was open to returning in a STAR WARS movie, but apparently he is not interested in a tv series, “No, I’m not. There’s so many spinoffs of STAR WARS. It’s diluting it to me, and its taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”
OUTER BANKS---Netflix renewed the series for Season 4.
DISNEY+---Disney+ cancelled THE MIGHT DUCKS: GAME CHANGERS and BIGSHOT.
BLOOD & TREASURE---Paramount+ cancelled the series.
THE SHROUDED COLLEGE---Seth McFarlane/Peacock tv series underway based on the graphic novel.
TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Dick Van Dyke said in a 2013 interview on "The Kevin Pollak Chat Show" that he was offered the role of James Bond in 1968 after Sean Connery left the franchise, "I was doing CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and Sean Connery had spoken about leaving the Bond pictures, you know, He had done several at the time. And Cubby Broccoli actually called me in [to his office] and asked me if I wanted to be Bond!" Broccoli was the producer of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG which was based on the book CHITTY-CHITTY-BANG-BANG: THE MAGICAL CAR by James Bond author Ian Fleming.
Pollak replied, "No, he didn't," but Van Dyke said, "Yes, he did!"
Pollak then jokingly mentioned Van Dyke's terrible Cockney accent in MARY POPPINS which has followed Van Dyke ever since, "He loved your English accent!"
Van Dyke replied, "I said, 'Have you heard [my British accent]? and [Broccoli] said, 'Oh, that's right! Forget it!'"
Dick Van Dyke, Sean Connery and his wife, Diane Cilento, met Queen Elizabeth II at the London premiere of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. Ironically, Connery left the James Bond franchise after YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE which led to Cubby Broccoli offering the 007 role to Van Dyke.
