A COLT IS MY PASSPORT---Gareth Evans remake of the 1967 Japanese movie has finished with the plot set in 1978 Detroit where a Vietnam vet-turned-hitman goes on the run after killing a mob boss. The cast includes Sope Dirisu, Tim Roth, Jack Reynor and Lucy Boynton.

THE BATMAN PART II---Colin Farrell talked about returning as The Penguin for the sequel, “I’ve got an even smaller role in this one. But I’m OK with that…I’ve read the script, from start to finish, and I can’t say much about it. But it’s deeper, scarier, the stakes are bigger. I’m really excited to see it.”

PREDATOR---Dan Trachtenberg hinted Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice cameo in PREDATOR: KILLER OF KILLERS might lead to him returning, “I met Arnold, and he said, ‘You’d think I get, “l’ll be back,” yelled at me most, but it’s actually, “Get to the chopper!” So, he’s well aware of the franchise’s staying power. He was excited to talk about what else we could do. Because there’s so much more story to tell now — you could tell how [Dutch and Naru] were captured, or what happens when they’re de-iced. Many possibilities.”

BALLARD---Jack Meade-Mullarkey (VIKINGS) will play young Bosch in flashback scenes in Season 2.

DOCTOR WHO---Jodie Whitaker commented on returning, "If someone said to me in 20 years, ‘I’ve written an episode and the Thirteenth comes back,’ I just wouldn’t hesitate. It’s absolute joy.”

VERY-YOUNG-FRANKENSTEIN-2-FOTOR.jpg

THE WESTIES---Titus Welliver commented on his new MGM+ crime series, “What it really is, is a story about the Westies. In 1981, there was the building of the Javits Center. And of course, the Irish — the Westies — controlled the docks and they controlled the west side. But the Gambino family, of course, had their own hold on the union. So there had to be a kind of meeting of the minds there, despite the fact that the Westies were outnumbered by the Gambinos 100 to one. They were formidable and they were tough. And of course, the Gambinos used them for hits and things like that, so sort of this odd marriage.”

LIONESS---Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 3.

TRIVIA---Tom Clancy, who wrote THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, died 12 years ago on October 1, 2013.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY---FORBES reports that DIAL OF DESTINY's actual budget was $419 million compared to Disney's official figure of $300 million. After tax credits, etc., the budget was $352 million which makes DIAL OF DESTINY the ninth-most expensive movie ever made. INDIANA-JONES-FOTOR.jpg

AMI---Mads Mikkelsen and Diane Kruger star in the sci fi survival movie whose plot is described as, "AMI centers on an astronaut (Mikkelsen) who crash-lands on an uncharted planet after a catastrophic accident, with only his Quantum AI companion Ami (Kruger) left to aid in his escape. As he navigates an alien landscape and a battle for survival, he is forced to confront the fragility of memory, the isolation of space, and the resilience of the human spirit.

DCU---James Gunn commented on future DCU projects, “Right now, there’s actually two really cool film scripts that I’m hoping to take to the next level that we have general plans for, and I’m excited about both of those. And then I’m excited about one TV project in particular. I don’t know why we’re not greenlighted on that already—it’s just figuring out the budget. So there’s a couple of things that are very present that I’m excited about. Dealing with getting SUPERGIRL into shape, all these other things.
Watching episodes of LANTERNS—that’s coming along well. So, it’s really just dealing a little bit with everything and then mostly MAN OF TOMORROW. That’s the biggest thing for me. I mean, we go into production in April, so it may seem like far away to you, but to me, it seems awful close.”

SHERLOCK HOLMES 3---producer Susan Downey, wife of Robert Downey, Jr., commented on the status of the sequel, "I would love to bring a third Sherlock to the world. I really would. And we've been playing with it for a long time. We've been talking about a slightly different direction. It's always been kind of set in America, and whether that's a good idea or not, I'm not sure, but I love it. I love that idea. So, I would just love to do it. It's just hard. It's been a while, the bar is really high, or at least Robert has set the bar really high, so I don't know."

JOHN WICK---writer Austin Everett said he is working on a new JOHN WICK movie which is an “original samurai Western set in the John Wick universe. That’s probably as much as I can say”.

PEAKY BLINDERS---BBC/Netflix is developing a sequel with two seasons. The synopsis says, “Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”

TRIVIA---in JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH, when paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) touches a dinosaur, a Titanosaurus, for the first time, Bailey performed the solo clarinet for the soundtrack. Bailey said, “This really was the highlight of my career. The nerd in me erupted like Vesuvius.”

STAR WARS---Jared Leto was asked if he would like to be part of the STAR WARS franchise, “Okay, yeah. I mean, I love that too. I got a chance to be in BLADE RUNNER, which was another one of my favorites. I got a chance to be in Tron, I got a chance to be a part of so many amazing projects, I really feel like it’s icing on the cake from here on out.”

CONSTANTINE 2---Keanu Reeves commented on the status of the sequel, "Fingers crossed. Another draft of the script came in. We're gonna take it to the studio and hopefully they like it, too."

TRIVIA---Mel Blanc is one the greatest voice actors of all time and is known as "The Man of 1,000 Voices". He is best known for providing the voices for Looney Tunes characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Yosemite Sam, Road Runner, Tweety, Sylvester the Cat, Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales and others.

JAMES BOND DAY---to celebrate James Bond Day, Amazon Prime released posters showing the actors who played 007----but Bond's signature Walther PPK pistol was digitally deleted. After a fan outcry, Amazon replaced the artwork with photos of James Bond in scenes where he did not originally carry a pistol. Some observers speculate that Amazon deleted the pistol in order to appeal to younger fans who are more anti-gun than older audiences.

JAMES-BOND-1-FOTOR.jpg

MOVIES---Ridley Scott commented on the state of today's movies, "Well, actually, right now, I'm finding mediocrity – we're drowning in mediocrity. And so what I do – it's a horrible thing – but I've started watching my own movies, and actually they're pretty good! And also, they don't age. I watched BLACK HAWK [DOWN] the other night and I thought, "How in the hell did I manage to do that?" But I think occasionally a good one will happen, [and] it's like a relief that there’s somebody out there who's doing a good movie."

RIDLEY-SCOTT-1-FOTOR.jpg

THE PARTNER---Tom Holland is in negotiations to play Patrick Lanigan and Jason Bateman is in negotiations to direct the movie based on the John Grisham novel. The synopsis says, “The story follows Patrick Lanigan, a young partner in a white shoe Biloxi law firm who fakes his own death in a burning car. He’s left behind a wife, newborn daughter, and a secret. What he’s actually done is fake his death to create a template for a new life by stealing $90 million from a client of his crooked law firm. He finds happiness and love in South America. When the client, who worked so hard to defraud the government, finds the money is missing from his offshore accounts, he becomes determined to hunt down the lawyer he doesn’t believe is dead. That leads the attorney to have to turn himself in to the FBI and face up to the wife, child, and life he left behind.”

MONSTER: THE ED GEIN STORY---the Netflix anthology series received a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 29% based on 17 reviews and an audience score of 53% based on over 500 reviews. This is the lowest score of all the MONSTER seasons.

BALLARD---Amazon Prime renewed the series for Season 2.

THE GREAT NORTH---Fox cancelled the series.

TRIVIA---Alfred Hitchcock's THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH starred Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day. Day sang the song "Whatever will be" which later became known as "Que Sera Sera". The song received an Academy Award for Best Original Song, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and became Day's signature song, although she originally disliked the song.
"Que Sera Sera" was written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans---but not for THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH. Livingston got the idea for a new song after watching a scene in THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA where the words "Que Sera Sera" are carved in stone. The team wrote the song and two weeks later, Hitchcock's office called requesting they write a song for THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH in which Doris Days sings a song to her young son. The team waited two weeks to give the appearance that they were busy writing the song for the movie and then played it for Hitchcock. His response was, "Gentlemen, I didn't know what kind of song I wanted, and that is the kind of song I want!"

THE SMASHING MACHINE---the Dwayne Johnson biomovie about UFC champ Mark Kerr earned only $5.9 million in its premiere which is the lowest opening in Johnson's career. He commented on its disappointing box office, “From deep in my grateful bones, thank you to everyone who has watched The Smashing Machine,” Johnson wrote. “In our storytelling world, you can’t control box office results — but what I realized you can control is your performance, and your commitment to completely disappear and go elsewhere. And I will always run to that opportunity. It was my honor to transform in this role for my director Benny Safdie. Thank you brother for believing in me. Truth is this film has changed my life.“

DOC SAVAGE---Shane Black (IRON MAN 3) said he still wants to make a movie based on the pulp comic hero that was announced in 2009 with Dwayne Johnson, “I’ve always loved DOC SAVAGE. It’s based on ‘30s pulp, and he was the OG superhero. His name was Clark [Savage Jr.], and he was literally described as a 'super man'. So the first Doc Savage [in 1933] was before Clark Kent/Superman [in 1938]. He was the inspiration behind a generation of comic books and pulps and wonderful sh-t. So I would love, at some point, to revisit that. The problem is that the IP is not a household name. It’s much easier to fund something at that level of expense if it has Batman or Superman attached, as opposed to something that is going to be just as expensive and is less of a household name."
He also commented on might play Doc Savage in a new movie, “I don’t know. The problem is that it has to be someone that you can approach a studio with and say, ‘It’s going to be $150 million. Minimum.’ Doc Savage is about an entire world of adventure, and it’s a ‘30s period piece. I wouldn’t want to modernize it. So, yeah, I would look into finding a way to do that, but I still don’t have an actor in mind. It would have to be someone compelling enough to get the studio to loosen up those purse strings for us.“
The 1975 movie starred Ron Ely was a box office disappointment.

CLUE---Netflix competition tv series underway in which contestants undergo physical and mental challenges involving the board game characters including Miss Scarlet, Col. Mustard, Prof. Plum and Mrs. Peacock.

TRIVIA---Roger Moore and Lee Marvin starred in the World War I adventure movie SHOUT AT THE DEVIL set in Africa. Moore commented on Marvin's well-deserved reputation for boozing by saying a baby passed out from Marvin's alcohol-tainted breath, “One of the things was that Lee had a little problem with alcohol…Twice on the film, he went on a bender, and there was a sequence where his daughter on the film has had a baby, and my character was the father. He came in and he was really well gone, and he had this scene where he had to pick up the baby. He wasn’t holding it well and he was shaking, so I thought he was going to drop it. In the reverse shots of me I’m looking worried, and I really was worried. I was petrified he was going to drop this baby. The baby was screaming but when he took hold of it, it went dead quiet. I think he’d breathed on it, and his breath was 99 per cent pure alcohol.”

YELLOWSTONE---THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reported a shoving incident between Kevin Costner and Wes Bentley that led to a brief filming shutdown, "They were filming on a soundstage in Utah — Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley and Kelly Reilly — playing out another tense exchange in the Dutton family drama Yellowstone.
But between takes, tensions boiled over. Costner, both star and executive producer, was pushing Bentley to ditch Taylor Sheridan’s script and play the moment his way. Bentley refused. He told Costner that he had signed up for a Taylor Sheridan show, not a Kevin Costner production.
“Kevin didn’t like that, and he lunged at him,” says a source who was present. “No fists were thrown, but they were in each other’s faces, pushing and shoving and just getting hot until they had to be separated.” Reilly, according to one witness, was in tears. Production briefly shut down.
The dust-up — previously unreported — was a tipping point on a set already cracking from creative power struggles and bruised egos. But for Costner, it was merely the latest unfortunate incident in a long series of unfortunate incidents, a career marked by feuds, walkouts, lawsuits, financing fiascos and a growing reputation for being, as one former colleague put it, “impossible.”
THR also reported that when Costner departed Sheridan's YELLOWSTONE to film his HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA, he was unable to find a large number of horses and cattle necessary for a Western. The rumor was that the available horses and cattle had already been rented-----by a retaliating Sheridan.

STRANGER THINGS---Puck claims that the budget for Season 5, the last season, will be between $400 million-$480 million with episode costing between $50 million-$60 million. Each episode will be 90-120 minutes long. The premieres are November 26, December 25 and December 31.

OCEAN'S 14---George Clooney commented on the latest sequel, “We just got the budget approved at Warner Brothers, and we’re trying to set up. It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or ten months, shooting.”
He added, “Yeah, Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon], Don [Cheadle], and Julia [Roberts]. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.”

BILL AND TED 4---Keanu Reeves was asked if he and Alex Winter will reunite for the new sequel, “Yes and yes.”

VANISHED---Kaley Cucuo and Sam Claflin will star in the MGM+ four-part miniseries about a young woman who searches for her boyfriend after he mysteriously vanished on a train in southern France.

TRIVIA---Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris were adversaries in two Jerry Bruckheimer-produced movies. In THE ROCK, Cage played FBI chemist Dr. Stanley Goodspeed, who must stop renegade Marine Brig. Gen. Francis Hummel (Ed Harris) from firing missiles containing deadly VX nerve gas from Alcatraz to San Francisco unless the government pays $100 million to the families of his men who were killed in combat and not recognized by the government. In NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS, Cage played historian Ben Gates who must disprove treasure hunter Mitch Wilkinson's (Harris) allegations that his great-great-grandfather was a member of Abraham Lincoln's assassination.

SUPERMAN---FORBES states that SUPERMAN made $308 million in theaters, but its budget of $225 million and a $125 million marketing budget means the movie will not make a profit until streaming and merchandising is factored in.

THE X-FILES---Danielle Deadwyler (TILL) is in talks to star in Ryan Coogler's reboot of the sci fi/horror that starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Robert Patrick was asked if he is interested in returning as FBI Special Agent John Doggett for the reboot, "It’d interesting to see what’s happened to him in the elapsed time in between him being there and wherever they pick up. They’ve never had me back before, because of my schedule. I’ve always been too busy. But that’s the character that’s most dear to my heart, and what I loved about him was he was a very strong, tough guy, but had a heart of gold. That’s why he’s so dear to me."

KNIVES OUT 4---Rian Johnson commented on a new sequel now that his Netflix contract has ended, “I got nothing. If you have anything, I’ll take it. I think it’s good to totally empty the well and then start from scratch on the next one. As long as Daniel [Craig] and I have fun doing it, and he wants to do them, as long as audiences like them, and also as long as we can keep challenging ourselves and coming up with something that’s genuinely new.”

DEXTER: RESURRECTION---Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---Mark Hamill said he was offered a starring role in the sequel to the horror movie THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 (FULL SEQUENCE), “Someone said, ‘They want you to be in THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE PART 2.’ And I said, ‘What’s THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE?’ They explained the premise to me, and I went, ‘Oh my God! Thank you for putting those images in my head, and I’ll never forgive you for doing so.’ But that was an easy one. I said, ‘No, don’t send the script.’ The premise alone — I’ll never see one, and I really resent the fact that some human being thought of that concept of sewing people together, mouth to anus. Goodbye, and never enter my life again.”
The sequel plot had a mentally unstable security guard trying to surgically connect 12 people mouth-to-anus.

PEACEMAKER---James Gunn commented on a possible Season 3 in a now-deleted post, “No, this is about the wider DCU and other stories in which this will play out right now. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be. I don’t want to never say never, but right now, no, this is about the future of the DCU. It’s an important character.”
He later added, “We are true believers in Peacemaker the television show and these characters. Peacemaker will be back. As this TV show? We’ll see exactly what form. We have plans, but you’ll see all these characters in the future of the DCU, and not too long.”

WINDS OF WINTER---George RR Martin commented on the delay of his upcoming novel, “I know there’s all this controversy about Winds of Winter and how late it is, but I’ve always had trouble with deadlines. And I don’t feel happy breaching contracts or missing a deadline or anything like that.”
He added, “Yes, I do love Winds of Winter. I’m still interested in it, I’m still working on it...But honestly, I love these other things, too [WILD CARDS, DARK WINDS]."

THE MATRIX 5---Laurence Fishburne commented on if he will return for the latest sequel, “It depends on how good it is, really. If it’s great, then yeah, if it makes sense."

TRIVIA---four years ago, on October 13, 2021, William Shatner blasted off into space as a passenger on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space shuttle which made Shatner, then 90, the oldest man to travel into outer space.
Shatner, in his memoir, STAR TREK MEMORIES, said his favorite STAR TREK episode "Devil in the Dark" was his favorite episode because during filming, his mother called him and told him his father had died. Shatner said Leonard Nimoy's delivery of Spock's mind meld with the Horta creature made him laugh and how the cast and crew helped him through his father's death. DOCTOR WHO---writer Robert Shearman commented on the status of the sci fi tv show, "At the moment I'm in a 'pull' phase. It's weird because the show is probably as dead as we've ever known it. After 1989, we had, for years, a current Doctor. Now, everything that is ever going to be produced in Doctor Who terms is going to feel retrogressive. At least with the New Adventures and then the BBC Books [original novels published in the nineties] you thought, 'It's the current Doctor – McCoy or McGann'. No one's going to start writing Doctor Who books with a Billie Piper Doctor, because no one knows what that means. In a funny way, the closing moments of The Reality War seem to put a full stop on things. We didn't have that before."

TRIVIA---sci fans probably know Patricia Tallman for playing telepath Lyta Alexander on the sci fi tv series BABYLON 5 and numerous roles in the STAR TREK tv universe. However, even more fans have seen her, but did not recognize her, as Laura Dern's stunt double in JURASSIC PARK. Tallman's most memorable scene is when she doubles as Dern's Ellie Sattler when Sattler climbs on the tail of the Alamosaurus skeleton as the Raptors and the Tyrannosaurus Rex battle each other in the Visitor Center.

TRON: ARES---the sequel earned $33.2 million domestically which is about $10 million below projections which reportedly has led Disney to end the TRON franchise. Also, writer Jesse Wigutow said the original script was changed to fit Jared Leto, “The first iteration of the script was a different movie, but it had a character named Ares." Some Hollywood experts say the days of Leto being a blockbuster leading man are over with one saying, “In a world where Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor and Benedict Cumberbatch are having a hard time getting lead roles, why would you even go to a person who can’t open a movie and who has question marks around him as a person?” However, another executive said, “You could have had Ryan Gosling, it wasn’t going to work. No one asked for this reboot. If you say, 'TRON: ARES is good, we just needed a different actor,’ you’re deluding yourself.”

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER---FORBES reported that the 2019 sequel's actual budget was $593.7 million which makes it the third most-expensive movie ever and behind STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION. THE RISE OF SKYWALKER grossed $1.07 billion worldwide.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN---Marvel Studios' Brad Winderbaum commented on Matthew Lillard's character in Season 2, “He plays a character named Mr. Charles. The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard’s character represents that. So he’s a bit of a new antagonist on the field, but he’s as influential in many ways as Fisk is. That power negotiation at a very high level of politics and international diplomacy is also fun to watch. He is dealing with Mr. Charles up here and Daredevil down here for different reasons. So he’s getting squeezed a little bit.”

DEVIL IN DISGUISE--Peacock renewed the crime anthology series for Season 2 which will be about serial killer Richard Ramirez, the "Night Stalker", who terrorized Los Angeles and Southern California in 1984-1985.

EXPIRATION DATES---Emma Roberts will star in the Amazon MGM Studios movie based on the novel. The plot is described as, "EXPIRATION DATES follows the life of Olive, a woman who discovers that every time she meets a new man, she receives a slip of paper with his name and the exact amount of time they will be together."

TRIVIA---in Alfred Hitchcock's THE BIRDS, when Hitchcock wanted to film inside the Tides restaurant, Tides owner Mitch Zanich said he wanted the main male character named after him and he wanted a speaking role. So Hitchcock named Rod Taylor's character, Mitch Brenner, and after Tippi Hedren is first attacked by the sea gull, Zanich played the man who asked Brenner, "What happened, Mitch?" Brenner replied, "A gull hit her" and Zanich asked, "A gull?"

BOSCH-2-FOTOR.jpg

PEACEMAKER---the Season 2 finale received considerable fan criticism including one comment that said, “Total nothing burger, we were told big DC Stars were gonna be in it, big surprises and a direct tie to MOT, none of that happened.” James Gunn commented on if he was aware of the criticism, “Definitely! Not everyone can love everything. I love the episode but I understand not everyone does which is completely fair.”

X-MEN '97---Marvel Studios' Brad Winderbaum said the animated tv series might get two more seasons, “There is definitely, more than possibly, more to come from X-MEN ’97. We’re talking about Seasons 4 and 5 now.”

TOM CLANCY'S SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---Peter Sellers almost played a British military officer in the US in two hit 1960s movies. In DR. STRANGELOVE, Sellers played RAF Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake stationed at Burpelson Air Force Base. In IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD, Sellers was offered the role of British Army Lt. Col. J. Algernon Hawthorne, who is vacationing in California, but he did not get the role down because he wanted too much money, so Terry-Thomas played Hawthorne.

BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL PART 1: KNIGHTFALL---synopsis released for the animated movie, “When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point.”

DOCTOR WHO---executive producer Jane Tratner commented on writer Robert Shearman's comment that DOCTOR WHO is "dead as we've ever known it" by saying, “‘As dead as we’ve ever known.’ That’s really rude, actually. And really untrue...The plans for DOCTOR WHO are really simply this: the BBC and BBC Studios had a partnership with Disney+ for 26 episodes. We are currently 21 episodes down into that 26-episode run. We have got another five episodes of [spin-off series] THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND THE SEA to come. At some point after that, decisions will be made together with all of us about what the future of DOCTOR WHO entails."
She added, “It’s a 60-year-old franchise. It’s been going for 20 years nonstop since we brought it back in 2005 [when I worked at the BBC]. You would expect it to change, wouldn’t you? Nothing continues the same always, or it shouldn’t continue the same always. So it will change in some form or another. But the one thing we can all be really clear of is that the Doctor will be back and everyone, including me, including all of us, just has to wait patiently to see when — and who.”

GO, BEAVERS---Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza are in talks to return for the last of the lesbian movie trilogy which involves a college rowing team reuniting which leads to the members dying mysteriously.

Ha Ha have to laugh about Dr Who, the remakes keep failing because they are Not like the Classic versions, talk about Go Woke Go Broke.
My late wife was a Dr, WHO fan from way back when it first started. When the female 13th Doctor came along, after watching a few episodes, my late wife said it was the beginning of Dr. Who going down the tubes.
