Thanks Mate, what music are you into apart from Rock? I am interested in a wide range of music genres, currently have over 1,000 songs on my Spotify and Youtube Music apps divided into Six different genres, Chill/Blues/Jazz being the latest list added. Never thought I would acquire a taste for Jazz etc, but I suspect old age may be a factor 🤪

Just for a change, here's Three Classics from my Classic list;

Matt:

I listen to just about everything accept for new hip-hop (I do like some old school Run DMC etc.).

Rock is my obvious favorite with an inclination toward the 80’s and 90’s.

I really like song writing and storytelling lyrical ballads no matter what the genre.

For example this is one of favorite “toy soldier” songs that tells a great story:

Matt, the third one wasn’t playing. That first one reminded me of:

Robbie Williams - Angels (Live 8 2005)

Keith Urban - Somebody Like You (Live 8 2005)

Yeah, young Robbie Williams did ok after I went solo didn't he ;)

Keith Urban is a local boy from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, he has also done okay in the music industry :cool:

Let's see if this substitute Norwegian arty video works;

That song's certainly a change from 'Ace of Spades'.

I also like a good ballad, including this Country classic;

Thanks Matt, I did not know Keith Urban was Australian.

A bit of OGWT classic rock

UFO - Doctor Doctor – 1979

Keith Urban was technically born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia, recently separated from Nicole Kidman who was born in Hawaii, but also raised in Australia, now both American as well I guess. Not sure if Keith Urban is related to Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings etc) who was also born in New Zealand.

Never heard of UFO, not a bad song.

Thanks Matt, I have some tracks from them courtesy of my kids, I confess I hardly listen to them. The first and third track I thought were pretty good, but maybe their style is a bit like a 'brass section' 😉 to me?

A mix of styles ...

Five Finger Death Punch - Blue On Black (feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brantley Gilbert & Brian May)

Paul Rodgers and Joe Bonamassa - Perform the Free Hit “Walk In My Shadow” Beacon Theater - New York

Kiki Dee - Amoureuse (midnight Special 1974)

Matt, they wrote it. I don't know who else has played it? I first saw the video on MTV and bought the cd album straight after, the only time I ever did that, but I like the whole album. Another great one for in the car.

Like the 'Runaway Train', good track.
I understand the band Texas is still a thing and still playing live gigs which is something. (y)

Being born in the mid 60's, I got to exposed to both 60's & 70's music on my folks favorite radio stations, but hitting my teens in the late 70's got to enjoy the 80's in all its glory and the start of MTV. My music taste has varied over the years, however those 3x decades are my go too.....

I believe so - 'a still going theme' ...

Wishbone Ash - Live Raismes Fest 2025

Texas. "I don't want a lover". Noches del Botánico 2025.

Manfred Mann‘s Earth Band - Tollwood Munich 2025

Jason, thanks, never heard this band before, pretty good track as well.

Another mix,

B-52’s - Love Shack (Official Music Video)

Great White - Call It Rock And Roll HD

Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well ( colourised )

Plus a couple of singers with a big band:

Frank Sinatra and Count Basie - Come fly with me (live)

Ella Fitzgerald Duke Ellington - C Jam Blues - Duke's Place 1966
