Tina's comeback has much to do with David Bowie.....

He pointed music executives in her direction when she was still performing live gigs in small clubs at the time they were about to cancel her recording contracts.

The rest is history now, however Bowie recognized her brilliance at a time when she most needed it and she loved him for it.......

Thanks for the Status Quo memories Kev, head banging times indeed. I know Status Quo were huge in the UK, they did well in Australia but don't think they were well known in the USA, a hard country to break into music. I had one of their albums (12 Gold Bars), one of my cousins was a BIG fan of the group and I used to tease him about playing the same song(s)...Again, Again, Again


Sometimes bands became 'too popular', including ABBA, Status Quo etc, parody bands had some success downunder and elsewhere.

Quo did get some stick 'for the same three chords' - was this from the same 'BBC music intelligensia' that promoted the Glitter band? - always thought it was rubbish. Their 3 CD 'Definitive Hits' certainly fill enough room with some great tracks.

Matt, agree Paranoid is simply groundbreaking - definitely head banging in the day! And the band kept going even after Ozzie had his troubles. Oh the head banging lost youth ..... LOL
