George,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dad. Wishing your Dad a speedy recovery as we need him to enforce the "Do Not Touch" policy at shows and to make sure you pack all the toys carefully! All the best, Lawrence

Just wanted to ask you guys to say a prayer for my father Chris, also known by Andy from K & C as the chief of security at Minutemen Toy Soldiers, many of you know him as he comes to some of the shows with me.

He went in a couple of weeks ago for a stress test/EKG and did not do well, they found blockage, he went into the hospital on Wednesday to see what the problem was, they found multiple blockages, he is going in tomorrow for a triple bypass.

He's 82, been through a World War and was a Boston Police Officer for 37 years; needless to say, this will be his toughest fight yet, the doctors are very positive that he will be ok.

Anyway, he and I would appreciate it, for those of you who don't know him, sorry for imposing.........................

Here's hoping he is ok mate!:)
You're an amazing guy so one who has not met him can only imagine what your father is like!:)

Scott:)

best wishes and a speedy recovery for your father

Thanks again everyone for the support, today was a long and stressful day, Dad came out ok after 7 hours of surgery, he is in ICU and resting at the moment, the next 12 hours are pretty critical for him, his doctor is very positive that he will be ok and good as new..............can't thank you guys enough for the posts, PM's, calls and well wishes, he and I and my entire family all are grateful for the support....................

Cheers George:
My apologies for the late well wishes. Please tell your Dad I am thinking of him and am praying for a quick & strong recovery. You too are in my thoughts and prayers during this challenging time so make certain to take care of yourself as well.
Hang Tough!

George,

My best wishes for your father and I hope he does well!

Just saw this. Sorry.

All the best for your father. There is nothing like tending your stand during a toy soldier show to pass a stress test ...

Saw Dad today in ICU, he's doing a bit better, he's pretty weak now as can be expected, he's been through the ringer, each day he'll be a bit stronger, baby steps according to the doctors and nurses going forward.

Thanks again guys, really am blown away by all the support, glad I came to the forum with this, he'll be thrilled when he gets home and gets to read this thread, he knows a lot of you from the shows, so this will be a nice "get well" card from all of you, you guys are tops in my book...........

George, I am glad to hear your Dad is doing better.
Brian

George best wishes to your Dad..
My parents went on a cruise ship around the pacific a few weeks back and after only one day in my dad collapsed and had pneumonia they ended up getting dumped on a french speaking island that they did not plan on going to...it was a worrie for me and could not do anything but wait by the phone.
Anyway they are back in OZ and my dad is on the mend..but WOW the total bill was about $130'000 :eek:as the hospital stay on the island was about $7000 per day.
then the emergancy flight back to OZ about $20'000 there but lucky they had insurance...but what a nightmare.

George,

My sincere apologies for posting late here. This must be very stressful time for you and your family as your Dad recovers from triple vessel bypass surgery. I wish him a very speedy and smooth recovery. His progress sounds pretty encouraging taking into account his age, so things are looking up. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

All the Best, Raymond.

Thanks again everyone for your support, myself and my entire family are very grateful for it.

Dad is out of ICU as of 11:00am this morning, looks like he will be just fine, they are on schedule to send him home on Saturday, pretty amazing what doctors can do these days, thank God.............

Certainly good news George and I am sure his recovery will be speedy once he is back home in his own surroundings.
