Thanks for looking. Chris

Family members which you no doubt cherished every moment with them. Really hard, but my thoughts in these cases are that you gave them the best possible life and you wouldn’t have been without them in the first place. Lots a nice memories I am sure. Feel for you Chris. Robin.

I am sorry for you loss. After a few year gap I have a puppy again and remembering how much of a relationship you develop.

Enjoy the good memories.

Brad, thank you and I'm happy for your new beginning.

BTW, that's my youngest son in the pic. Chris

Sorry for you and your family loss, Chris. Always tough to lose a family member. Hang in there. -- Al

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.

I am sorry for your loss, Chris. I have 4 dogs, and they are each special beloved family members. A few years back I lost a particularly special K9 family member, Bjorn. I miss him every day, but he lives on in my heart and the hearts of my children, whom he loved and protected. I hope that Shelby lives on in your heart, and the hearts of your family.

Sorry to hear of your sad news Chris

Stay safe

Martyn

Thanks Wayne, I believe this to be true in my heart. Brings a tear to my eye as I write this. Chris

I feel for you Chris, our pets do become close family members and it's only natural to mourn them on their passing.
Sorry for your lose mate.

Steve

Sad news indeed! I am very sorry for your loss.
Losing my Fry several years ago still hurts, and with Fury over the age of 15 now, I am doing everything possible to keep him healthy and happy as long as possible.

Julie & Steve, thank you for the kind words. It'll take a while for the hurt to lessen as you said. Chris

Chris,

Thanks for sharing the photos, and I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Shelby. Losing a part of the family is the hardest. One can never underestimate how deeply significant these relationships are. The connection with animals is deeper in some ways, and having to let go is sheer brutality. Eventually you'll be able to look back on the 16+ years of fond memories. The hole in your life will eventually fill back in. I think a lot of people don't have pets because of the pain when we must say goodbye, but I ask myself where would we be had we never had them?

I'm certain you gave each other a lot of life and love. I believe that is what this (life) is all about.

My condolences and may Shelby rest in peace. You will be reunited-

Joe

I'm so sorry for your loss Chris. They are family and we would do anything to help them. We had to put a beloved cat down today and it hurts like hell. All the best to you.

Thanks Joe and Marco, the kind remarks and expressions of sympathy you and everyone else have sent mean a lot to me at this time. THey have certainly enriched the lives of Brenda and myself, as with others on the Forum who have had pets. Crhis

Oh man..................you just had to post this didn't you?...................

Very sorry for your loss Chris; pets become part of the family and when you lose one, it takes you down a couple of notches, you form a bond with the animal, a bond a non pet owner/lover will never get or understand...................always know that you gave your pet a wonderful home and a wonderful life, pets give love unconditionally, that's where the bond comes in.

We've lost four of our five cats the past 2 and half years, the four of them are buried side by side in a pet cemetery..............it's a wonderful, peaceful place, when you enter the cemetery, you have to go over a small wooden bridge...............the rainbow bridge.................every time I go there to visit my four departed buddies, it crushes me to go over that bridge.

It hurts because you love the pets so much, it's a price we have to pay, one I'll gladly pay.

Hang in there, best wishes................

Mark,
I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope your cat is resting peacefully now with no wants or discomforts. I hope the pain you're having to endure now will fade soon and is replaced by warm memories.

Best wishes,
Joe

They had happy and long lives with you. You will remember them. That's all they want.

Best Wishes from dog-lovers,
Pat & Pat
