Received GWF-42 French Infantry Soup Men and GWF-43 French Infantry Soup Men Carrying Bread yesterday afternoon. Both are very nice figure sets and welcomed additions to my JJD Great War Collection . . .

The figures look ever so much better in a diorama setting Mike. This series is so well thought out by John. Great to see them in action. Robin.

Robin, you always have a thoughtful and kind comment for those who post their dioramas on the Forum. Thanks for that. I appreciate it.

It's just knowing people have such a passion for collecting and how they get so much pleasure as I do, in displaying them. Also knowing they have used their time and hard earned money to invest in something they consider important in their life. Just an innocent way to have fun in this ever difficult world. So I like to acknowledge whenever I can, so thank you for kind words also. Robin.

Mike they look brilliant I have always wanted to collect WW1 French but as we all know you can't collect everything so it is great to be able to see others collection and share the enjoyment so thanks mate for posting.

my favorite series...I never get tired of seeing how other collectors display them...you do them well...nice set up!

Thank you Wayne and you are welcome . . . I don't understand the mindset that you can't collect everything, it's just a matter of deciding to spend your children's inheritance ^&grin

Thanks Mike . . . I know how much you like JJD's French Infantry figures. These photos only show a 2-foot section of an 8-foot long display showing my French Infantry moving through a French village. To the right, is a 3-foot shelf with mostly the wounded figures moving out of harms way, and to the left is another 3-foot shelf displaying my French armor, artillery, et al . .. .

Here are a few more photos of my French village street scene crowded with French Infantry, in this series mostly walking wounded troops. Altogether the street scene is 8-foot long divided into a 3-foot shelf section on the left and right and a 2-foot middle section. All buildings, road, and wall sections are made by Hudson & Allen.

What a fantastic dio, even if it is just a portion of the overall. There is so much going on, so much to see, from the tank being resupplied, to the many walking, (and otherwise) wounded moving by, to my favorite of the photog taking the picture of the 2 Poilus. Beautiful job. -- Al

Glad you like it AL . . . This is certainly one of my favorite displays . . . When I get the time, I will post some photos of the other 3-foot shelf section which completes the overall street scene . . .

I bet that photographer will be censcored if it takes shots of all those wounded Mike. Like the officer directing the stream of wounded. Robin.

Hi Mike,

Impressive! Very nice indeed..I also love these French JJD´s.....
If I may ask, what is the material from which Hudson & Allen make the buildings and Road? Are they resistant and can be assembled in various dioramas and once finished stored or chip very easily, hence need to be left on a shelf ?
Cheers
Luiz

Thanks Robin . . . You are probably correct about the censorship. Photos of all those casualties would not make very good war propaganda . . .

Great scene! How does one obtain the two buildings to the right?

That is actually a single piece that represents two buildings. It is HA-2086 Half Timbered House & Storefront (Rat Carcher). Contact Ericka Osen at W. Britains for availability . . . erickaosen@wbritain.com or 419-865-5077 . . .
