I have been trying to think of a way to expand the two SP029 Jettys that I have acquired for my growing US Navy/Marines in China table display. A number of days ago I got an idea of how to do it and today I had the time to implement it. I built a 9-inch x 15-inch peir/jetty extension and placed it perpendicular to my K&C jettys. It is made out of Elmer's 1/4 inch foam board. I took some actual photos of the jettys and cropped them to scale. Then I adjusted my photographs color tint/saturation/brightness to match the color of the jettys. Using an exacto knife, carpenter's square, Elmer's glue, and some acrylic paints, I attached copies of the photos to the structure similar to how you would hang wall paper. By the way - each of the two K&C jettys has a 2"x6" behind it, which I had a friend of mine plane down and cut to the right height and length needed. This gave me 1.5 inches more depth behind each jetty - room for the SOHK buiding facades. Here's a couple of photos of the finished jetty extension . . . . .
Still a work in progress but its getting there . . . . . . . . . Mike
