N.f.l. 2012 (3 Viewers)

Sorry men, my mind is not on football today, tough ride home from the DC show today, listening to the radio and hearing the NY/NJ shows rehashing 9/11, pretty gut wrenching.

But on a somewhat brighter note, I like the Statefarm Commercial with all of Cromarties kids singing "New York" in front of a firehouse.............

Can't say I'm completely shocked by what I'm seeing tonight.

Baltimore took out some past frustration in this game and no matter how good a team is, no one turns the ball over 7 times and wins. Baltimore took it to the Steelers and deserve the credit. One game down, 15 more to go. -- Al

Glad we beat the Steelers and that it is over, seems like that is all I heard about during pre-season, time to get ready for the Titans...Sammy

Whew! Hope they learn something from this game.

Nice to see the Jets picking up right where they left off last year, ie, winning games they have absolutely business doing so.

Bryant is torching the secondary, then he gets hurt and is a non factor the rest of the game, advantage Jets.

Down 24-10 starting the fourth quarter, then the third Cowboys cornerback goes down, advantage Jets again so naturally SANCHISE shreds them and marches right down the field and scores a TD, then the fumbles on the next drive and the Cowboys recover, only to go 3 and out, then a blocked punt turns into a touchdown, then Romo throws a INT that turns into the game winning field goal.

Yep, Fatso and the Jets really deserved to win that game.

There's no question they were extremely lucky, especially with the Dallas secondary going down. But, as Branch Rickey said, luck is the residue of design. Sometimes you'd rather be lucky than good.

In the post game interviews, some of the Jets players said they have a lot to work on.

Can't begin to express how hard it was to watch Romo blow one chance after another to slam the door shut...no excuses...the secondaries injuries...Bryant's injury...no excuses...to watch them blow a lead like that and lose was painful...flase starts...clock penalties...interceptions...blocked punts...no excuses...just stupid mistakes that left them wondering what went wrong...I had Dallas +6...and while I was happy to win my wager...the pain of that lose was brutal...while I think Romo has a great arm...his decision making is more than questionable...the Jets may not have deserved the win...but neither did the Cowboys...what a hard watch for a Cowboy fan...just brutal...

Mike,

I think you can excuse the injuries, the blocked punt and even the fumble at the 1. However, the delay of game calls was hard to understand, not to mention the next to last play of the game when Romo and the center were not ready.

I guess you can chalk these things and some of the play by both teams, as well as other teams, to lack of practice due to the lockout.

One last point from a Jets fan: where was the Jets running game? Pathetic.

Mike,

not to mention the next to last play of the game when Romo and the center were not ready.

Brad ...lol...oooooh yea...forgot about that...one more painful memory...I'm still reeling from the loss...golden opportunity blown...to go into NY and beat a quality team...

Must be a slow day up in Boston, to have this compulsive concern for the Jets. That's right, I forgot, the Red Sox are dropping out of the race, sinking like the proverbial stone. How do you say "Sayonara, baby" in Charlestown? :wink2:

Yeah you're right Brad, they're pulling a "2008 Mets" epic gag job now aren't they?

Brady threw for over 500 yards tonight, including a 99 and 1/2 TD pass.

So there you go Brad, that's what it's like up here in Boston, the City of Champions; one door closes, another one opens....................

Rays inching closer George. Door starting to shut.

Oh, was there a game tonight. Oh, yes, Raiders looking good so far.

In all seriousness, Pats looked pretty good, they scored quite easily. I think the Jets even ugly or lucky are pretty tough too. They have unique weapons that can score in the blink of an eye. Plax looks like he never left the game, Holmes is always dangerous. As a Steeler fan, I really wish we would have signed Plax back. I think personally he has some major flaws, but his ability as a receiver and the uniqueness that 6ft5 brings is pretty interesting.

End of the day, Ravens, Jets and Pats will be there, if Pitt regroups and fixes O line (now injured one), they will be in the mix, but we are going to need some luck against the top 3.

TD

IMO the Pats are not a Super Bowl team. Brady as much as I hate the Pats is a Hall of fame QB and Miami's D sucks (that being said they are rebuilding and in 2 years or so will be in contention) . Next Sunday Chargers for the win.....as long as Norm doesn't blow it.

I've said all along if the Red sox make the playoffs, they won't go far, so if they don't get in, it doesn't matter.

Nobody from the AL is going to beat the Phillies this year; baseball comes down to one thing, pitching.

They do have a lot of injuries, it is true. What a shame. Now, don't tell me it will be Yankees versus Phillies. Watching that will as if you go to the Doctor and he tells you I can cut off your arm or your leg, which is it going to be?

I'm going with Tigers/Phillies...............

Hey, I represent that. Grossman and the Redskins won one today, but there are plenty of games left to show our true colors.:rolleyes2: Not convinced yet, and not drinking the local coolaid, but a win is a win is a win. We'll see if this team has a winning record in it, but I am sceptical. -- Al
Saturday night and no buzz on tomorrow's games? I think the 'skins are 4 point favorites. Don't think they'll cover but do think they'll win. Should be a good offensive display. -- Al
