Finally!!! We're back in business after 4 months of B.S. but just glad the season is on schedule!!! and not a moment to soon, my baseball balloon poped about 4-5 weeks ago:( as goes my O's, but alas football is upon us:), and again another year of hoping my Ravens can make it to the play-offs, and get past the evil Steelers for a change, also going to my first Sunday nite game in B-more to watch my Ravens play Brad's evil J-E-T-S!! that's gonna be a good one, opening with the Steelers for the first game is gonna be a toughy, and and all another exciting season I'm sure of, last year we did our own football picks here, some did great, some sucked (me in that bunch:)) picked the Skins in playoffs last year!! so let's do it again.

AFC PLAYOFF TEAMS

RAVENS
STEELERS
PATRIOTS
JETS
COLTS
RAIDERS

NFC PAYOFF TEAMS

EAGLES
PACKERS
49 ERS
BEARS
SAINTS
GIANTS

OK, guys, let's see your pics...Sammy

I too am just glad its over. I like all of your picks except with regard to the AFC and NFC west. I can't see the 49ers making the playoffs without getting a new QB (which they claim they are not doing), and it looks like the Cardinals are getting the Eagle's back up, so I see Arizona winning the NFC West with a 9-7 or 8-8 record. I like the Chiefs to keep improving and beat out the Raiders for the AFC West.

Well, good to see it's back. I don't know the details of the deal but is it possible to know how each team is going to do with the free agent signing period still to take place?

Some of the players must be happy that football didn't start earlier, what with this heat.

I know I'm about to make a lot of you laugh but I'm calling it out now. The Detroit Lions make the playoffs!!!!!

Really could care less about football right now; no rookie camps, none of the picks even signed yet, no free agent signings, they are going to cram all of this workouts in and try to play all of those worthless, meaningless exhibition games, someone of importance is going to get hurt, mark it down in pen.

Too focused on baseball right now to even think about football...............

Iam a big Bears fan. But I liked to see Detroit make the playoffs. Last years Championship game between
Greenbay and Chicago was a let down as a Bears fan. So lets dream a miracle NFC Championship Detroit
at Chicago.

Well George that's half my problem, my baseball team (O"s) usually slide off the radar....mmm, juneish at best, could you imagine if your Sox were out of it before the all star break?? makes a longggggg baseball season, now going on 13, no 14 years with a losing record, bring on football, I have nothing else:)...Sammy

How about those Pittsburgh Pirates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, I don't care what they do the rest of the season (I do care), but WOW, I can't believe it after 20 years of depression!

Now Sammy, we have been down this road before, let me teach you the song...................Here We Go.......Steelers.............Here We Go............Pittsburgh is going to the Super Bowl! We are still on the Stairway to Seven.

Let the games begin.

TD

And before all the haters, while we lost to a great Green Bay team, we were still there, the Super Bowl that is and we plan on going back!

Still a little warm for me to get totally into football but I will be watching with interest to see what kind of disaster the Redskins create in the coming weeks, what with the McNabb and "Big Albert don't play that" soap operas still in production.:wink2::rolleyes2:{eek3} -- Al

Well, apparently the McNabb half of the soap opera has been solved with NcNabb now reported on his way to Minnesota. Anyone want Haynesworth so the Redskins can concentrate on football and not Mr. Crybaby? -- Al

My favorite team the Jets resigned Holmes and are interested in Moss in case Edwards walks, they are also hot after Asomugha; write this down in pen in that if they get him and pair him with revis, just go ahead and cancel the season and hand the Lombardi to fatso right now, are you kidding me?

Haynesworth to Pats and Sidney Rice to Seahawks (don't cry Pete).

Reggie Bush to the Dolphins. That's a strange one. Bush is more a fragile return guy than TB at the NFL level. Maybe that's what they want - I don't really follow the fins.

Haynesworth to the Pats. All I have to say is good luck to the Pats. He sure was a waste of a football player here in DC. -- Al

My prediction the Chargers will win the AFC West...after losing 2 to 4 of the first games and then crumble in the post season. Norv Turner worst coach in football. BTW I love the Chargers the coaching just sucks.

I mean the Raiders are building a better franchise...The Raiders.

Tell me about Norv. We lucky fans in DC had to put up with him for several years as the Redskins head coach. He's an offensive genius, you know.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Ah, Minnesota, the home of old, washed up quarterbacks. We had SUCH a great year with Favre last year, I can see why we want another old timer!!!

This will be a LONG season up here in MN!

Color me pleased that the Redskin's solved their soap operas so fast. Now no distractions, until the next one, that is. Rebuilding, again, this time in the Shanahan's image. Must be patient as the Redskins embark on another 2 (?) year plan. Hope for .500, settle for 7-9 (or 6-10) and a spoiler role. But would like to see some results this decade. -- Al

Patriots get Chad Johnson for a 6th and 7th round pick; so for a 5th, 6th and 7th they get Haynesworth and Johnson.

Haynesworth and Wilfork in the middle of a 4-3 defense, two double teams that will free up the linebackers.

Interesting.

Johnson, Branch, Welker with a two tight end set.

Double interesting.

After watching the Red Sox split 4 games with the AAA Royals, it's back to football.................

Evening Sammy / George;
Yea' being a O's fan is a tough position. I have to admit I am "spoiled rotten" with our New England teams. Bruins Stanley Cup Champs; Sox 1st place in the AL East again, Celts went deep into the playoffs again and the Pats, ..... well another great year coming.
BUT Haynesworth????? {sm2}{sm2}

Okay, Billy did wonders with Corey Dillion, and Moss so maybe, just maybe he can spin another miracle.
