Finally!!! We're back in business after 4 months of B.S. but just glad the season is on schedule!!! and not a moment to soon, my baseball balloon poped about 4-5 weeks ago:( as goes my O's, but alas football is upon us:), and again another year of hoping my Ravens can make it to the play-offs, and get past the evil Steelers for a change, also going to my first Sunday nite game in B-more to watch my Ravens play Brad's evil J-E-T-S!! that's gonna be a good one, opening with the Steelers for the first game is gonna be a toughy, and and all another exciting season I'm sure of, last year we did our own football picks here, some did great, some sucked (me in that bunch:)) picked the Skins in playoffs last year!! so let's do it again.

AFC PLAYOFF TEAMS

RAVENS
STEELERS
PATRIOTS
JETS
COLTS
RAIDERS

NFC PAYOFF TEAMS

EAGLES
PACKERS
49 ERS
BEARS
SAINTS
GIANTS

Raiders are not making the playoffs Chargers will...also while I would love the 49ers to they will not; both teams are about a year off.

Chargers will win AFC then crumble. Raiders and 49 ers are a year away from being contenders.

Man, the Jets really kill me. Not only do they fail to land Osemwahe, they lose him to the Eagles. I would love to see the Eagles' books. How is it possible that they keep paying top dollar to land free agents, season after season, but never have any cap issues, while my Giants consistently fail to do anything big in free agency yet are always capped out? We need a more creative GM.

The Jets didn't get their man, but instead got Cromartie for 32 million, which works out to 3.55 million per kid, and 34 year old/out of football for three years Plax, who as long as he does not shoot himself in the foot....might be ok, would rather have him than stonehands Edwards.........

But what about the mothers?

Guess the Jets will have to raise their debt ceiling for them.

Not to worry, there's a few bucks in there for the mothers too............actually a good signing, he's just 27 years old..................

More than enough time to split the pie eight, nine, ten times ^&grin

Finally the real games begin!!!!!!!!! looks like alot of great games to start the season for the first week, Thursdays nite opener should be great one, but of course I'm already getting excited about the Raven/Steeler game!!!!!once again I'm sure it will be a close one, (they always are,) and hopefully my Ravens can start the season with a win over Pittsburgh and get a leg up on the AFC North...Sammy

The Giants are going to stink on ice this year. With the schedule they face, they will be lucky to go 7-9. At least they'll finally get rid of Coughlin.

Louis, we will find out who has the worse team on Sunday. I have a suspicion that the Redskins will give the Giants a fight for the "stink on ice" title. Super Rex has been named the starting QB. Have mercy on the Redskins. Go Yankees! -- Al

In the NFL...hope springs eternal as the season begins. Every year some favorites go down for the count (like the Vikes last year) and somebody that had NO chance of winning gets hot.

There MIGHT be hope up here in the ancient-quarterback land of the North...might...

Well, we got whupped today. 7 turnovers against a very good Ravens team. Honestly, if it wasn't for our defense, I think we are lucky they only got 21 points off our turnovers, it could have been worse.

I still think it will be a long season and if can work on what we need too, we have the talent to be there.

But boy today, we couldn't put one foot in front of the other when it mattered.

Til next week,

I'm going to give some love to the UNDEFEATED Vikings...I may only be able to say that for a couple more hours...:redface2:

Baltimore took out some past frustration in this game and no matter how good a team is, no one turns the ball over 7 times and wins. Baltimore took it to the Steelers and deserve the credit. One game down, 15 more to go. -- Al

Al,
couldn't agree more, as much as it pains me to say!

Hopefully this game gives the Steelers the motivation for the next 15 games. Sometimes getting it a little can be helpful. 7 turnovers, I am still shaking my head, WOW. Steelers just could not figure out Ravens "D" for a whole drive. Suggs, Lewis and Reed really played well and all at the same time, that is a tough combination to deal with.

Sometimes when things go wrong, things snowball out of control, not to mention the Ravens had to have this game. I wouldn't want to have been in the locker room with Tomlin after the game.

As I expected, the Giants looked terrible today. They made the woefull Red Skins, starting Rex Grossman, a down right terrible quarterback, look like contenders. Its going to be a long season. At least the Yankees managed to pull one out today.

Hey, I represent that. Grossman and the Redskins won one today, but there are plenty of games left to show our true colors.:rolleyes2: Not convinced yet, and not drinking the local coolaid, but a win is a win is a win. We'll see if this team has a winning record in it, but I am sceptical. -- Al

A 47.9 Qb rating, with 39 yds passing. And that is why McNabb was shooed out of DC. -- Al
