That “whiff trip tackle” attempt by Peneiro on the opening kickoff of the SF/Seattle game was embarrassing...I know no team wants their kicker getting too physical...but this is the playoffs...first thing I thought was “soft as Charmin”...coach should make him work out on “the sled” a little bit...again no team wants their kicker making the tackle...but come on...take one for the team...this is the playoffs...that play should make a blooper reel...

I dont necessarily disagree with pass int calls in Denver game but why only call it in overtime and ignore all game?

I had no skin in this game but it's a real shame that the refs decided it. No way the first call was PI. That was the game decider. I also thought the catch/INT should have gone to the Bills. The receiver has the catch when he hits the ground with a defender on top of him and the ball is pulled away after he was down. Josh Allen is now 0-9 in OT. Some guys like him and Dan Marino are snake bit.

They never punted the entire game and still lost.

Coach Hardo going on and on about the Cooks play/INT shows what a loser he is, it was ruled an INT, move along Hardo, you still had chances to win the game and didn't stop crying.

Harblow wishes now he did not take that Giants job so soon as what if Hardo gets fired?

Best thing for the Patriots is the Bills don't fire him, they are not winning anything with him as their coach.

Allen carrying the ball like a loaf of bread towards the end of the first half gifted 3 points to Denver., Cooks fumble in the red zone cost them another 3 points at least, then Allen playing hero ball continually heaving the ball downfield when he had receivers open underneath time and time again shows what a blockhead he is, but on the flip side, 17 for Denver dropped a TD pass, so they settled for a FG there, take 4 points off the board, plus they had a shot at a 58 yard makable FG and they punted instead.

All of that said; I don't understand how that play with Cooks is not down by contact, he had the ball when he hit the ground, once again I have no idea what a catch in this broken toilet of a league is.

I also REALLY don't understand again on Cooks when the defender CLEARLY grabbed his forearm in the end zone how that is not DPI, first and goal on the one, game over.

It all comes down to the Bills; "Shady" Brady leaves the AFC East, they had a 5 year window to win a SB, couldn't get past Burrow or Mahomes, then this year, they had a wide open path playing dreamboat in Jacksonville, that stiff Nix in Denver and either Stroud or Maye in the championship game, yet they found another way to lose.

This one goes along with "Wide right/Music City Miracle/13 seconds", not sure what to call this one.

That was one of the greatest games I ever saw until the refs decided to step in and start throwing flags, watched it at my friends house, after it was over, he said "Do you want to watch the next game?" and my reply was "I will until it gets lopsided either way" then Seattle runs back the opening kick off...............I stood up and left.

Purdy is a nice little story, Mr Irrelevant and all that, but people trying to compare his story to Brady/6th round draft pick/are kidding themselves.

Should be an ugly, low scoring game. Likely a turnover or penalty decides it. The Pats seem to have all the luck this year - one of the softest schedules in NFL history and then a home game against the hapless Chargers. So they probably catch a break or bad call and win. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

In terms of the Niners, the injuries have been a killer dating back a few years now. I do think Shanahan, however, gets a pass from the media for the many players that he has alienated. They have lost a ton of talent because certain players were unhappy and wanted out. He puts too much faith in Purdy and McCaffrey. Purdy is not only not a Joe Montana or Steve Young, but he is also not even a Jimmy G. quality QB. I would much rather play against Purdy than Jimmy G. when he was in his prime. McCaffrey gets so many touches that he can't help but be banged up in the playoffs.

I am speechless honestly on Nix's injury. I am not a fan, but jeez, how the heck do you break your ankle in the manner he did, that is unreal. The game itself was unreal and the detail in George's post pretty much sum up as you put it "Ref 101". The more I see replays, the more egregious it was and if that came from New York, then you got what you deserved in Nix's ankle. (Not that I would wish the injury upon Nix). I go back to my point that the games are not fixed perse, just some seem to have someone's foot on the proverbial brake at some point..................

Not relevant since the Pats haven't won the Super Bowl. You can be a great team that has a soft schedule. You can also be a mediocre team with a great record because of the soft schedule. The playoffs decide it. You see it all the time in the college football playoff. Some team like JMU comes along with a great record and gets rolled. Look that up.

It's 50/50 at best today whether the crappy/lucked their way into the second round of the playoffs/played a bunch of tomato cans to begin with/Patriots beat the 1985 Bears and move on, I won't be shocked if they lose.

I'm sure the networks are thrilled with a possible Stroud/Stiffham match up in the AFCCG, final score 3-2.

I think you have me confused with Combat, he's the one who's choosing to die on the "The Patriots had a soft schedule/are the luckiest team in NFL history" hill.

The 2001-2018 Patriots were the best/most talented dynasty in NFL history, they were good, this team if they win a SB will be the luckiest team ever according to him.

So the Patriots were BOTH good and lucky.
