REF BALL 101I dont necessarily disagree with pass int calls in Denver game but why only call it in overtime and ignore all game?
The Bills doing Bills things.I had no skin in this game but it's a real shame that the refs decided it. No way the first call was PI. That was the game decider. I also thought the catch/INT should have gone to the Bills. The receiver has the catch when he hits the ground with a defender on top of him and the ball is pulled away after he was down. Josh Allen is now 0-9 in OT. Some guys like him and Dan Marino are snake bit.
He broke it on the play before, the second to last play in OT.He apparently broke his ankle near the end or on a pointless kneel down in OT. Unreal. If the Pats win today and then get a Broncos team without a QB, they will officially be the luckiest team in the history of all sports. The Seahawks bus will probably crash on the way to the Super Bowl and the Pats will win by default.
Should be an ugly, low scoring game. Likely a turnover or penalty decides it. The Pats seem to have all the luck this year - one of the softest schedules in NFL history and then a home game against the hapless Chargers. So they probably catch a break or bad call and win. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.He broke it on the play before, the second to last play in OT.
Yup, we're the luckiest team in the history of sports (those salty tears are wonderful) IF we win today; not to mention it's snowing today, expecting 3 to 6 inches, not sure who that benefits, will it slow down the 85 Bears pash rush, we'll see.
Not sure how I feel about this game, to me it's a toss up, could go either way, would not be shocked to see the 1985 Bears win this one.
The 1999 SB Champion won by two feet Rams had the softest schedule in NFL history. The Pats seem to have all the luck this year - one of the softest schedules in NFL history and then a home game against the hapless Chargers. Not relevant since the Pats haven't won the Super Bowl. You can be a great team that has a soft schedule. You can also be a mediocre team with a great record because of the soft schedule. The playoffs decide it. You see it all the time in the college football playoff. Some team like JMU comes along with a great record and gets rolled. Look that up.The 1999 SB Champion won by two feet Rams had the softest schedule in NFL history.
Look it up.
It's 50/50 at best today whether the crappy/lucked their way into the second round of the playoffs/played a bunch of tomato cans to begin with/Patriots beat the 1985 Bears and move on, I won't be shocked if they lose. Not relevant since the Pats haven't won the Super Bowl. So what. You can only play the teams on your schedule. All wins count, including championships. If the Pats win this year are you going to say the same and they had an equally soft schedule. It’s not how you get there but that you got there. The 1999 SB Champion won by two feet Rams had the softest schedule in NFL history.
Look it up.
I think you have me confused with Combat, he's the one who's choosing to die on the "The Patriots had a soft schedule/are the luckiest team in NFL history" hill.So what. You can only play the teams on your schedule. All wins count, including championships. If the Pats win this year are you going to say the same and they had an equally soft schedule. I'm not sure you are getting my point. I'm not knocking their schedule or saying they are not a good team. It's just when you play a soft schedule, it is not clear how good they are. JMU came into the college football playoff with a great record and stats. They got blown out when they had to play a competitive team. It doesn't seem all that controversial. The Pats are hanging tough in the playoffs but they have certainly also caught some breaks. Half the already anemic Texans offense is out with injuries today. If the Pats win, they get to play a team without a quarterback in Denver. You can knock the Pat’s schedule...granted it wasn’t the toughest line up in the NFL...but they went 8-0 on the road...scored the 2nd most points in the NFL regular season...allowed the 4th fewest points against them in the regular season...those are stiff stats...pretty impressive...all you can try to do is beat who you’re up against...and they did that...
That would be a lot of fun. George and I can go back and forth without taking it personally. If the Pats run the table, good for them. If the Rams run the table, outstanding. Our lives will be no different. No, both of you whine about this, that or the other thing when it comes to football. God forbid the two of you play each other in the SB. This thread will explode.
It makes no sense to knock schedules, whether it’s the 2025 Pats, 1999 Rams or anyone else. You can only play whoever is on your schedule. Moreover, there are no style points given in football.
Doug...I get your point...it's pretty clear...and I agree...they did play a soft schedule...maybe you were not getting mine...they dominated that soft schedule...blew them away...took no prisoners...they keet on winning even in "trap games" where a lot of teams underestimate their opponents...ended up tied for the best win/lose record in the NFL...and that's what a good team does...and yes with Nico Collins out...Houston's star receiver...then losing ex-Cowboy TE...Dalton Schultz their second best receiver in the first quarter...their offense flat disappeared...I am not a Texan's fan...only watched them twice all year...last week and today...and CJ was beyond bad in both those games...but my opinion...I don't think the Pats are "paper lions"...NE is a very good team regardless of their schedule...still...Denver with no starting QB...can't argue that either...it's huge break for the Pats...NE on the road is a 5 1/2 favorite next week...I'm not sure you are getting my point. I'm not knocking their schedule or saying they are not a good team. It's just when you play a soft schedule, it is not clear how good they are.
