N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

American Gaming notes that sports bettors make up 36% of the viewership of NFL regular season games. That is the equivalent of 57 million unique viewers. Those viewers could care less about the National Anthem, the players or even the sport itself. All they care about is the result and for that reason the NFL will always have “fans”.

Very true and most assuredly a fact. That said, I can't imagine I am the only person who will not buy 1 "fan gear" from the NFL or MLB or NBA this year. I would think they will take a hit in that department. As I have said, I believe over the last few years, the outside shenanigans have taken away from the game and personally for me that is true. Therefore, I choose to do something else as I don't find it enjoyable to have to tune out the noise. I still will be surprised if they play a down of football.

Interesting conversation on sports talk radio today; millennials could give a rats *** about sports, older fans are getting turned off to all the protesting/kneeling/social slogans on uniforms, COVID is wreaking havoc with sports...……………..in short, the consensus is sports in this country are in trouble.

Couldn't agree more...……………..I have zero interest in a 60 game MLB "season" or this idiotic concept in hockey of some sort of play in tournament for the playoffs, not to mention the Patriots are on the back nine of their run, so sports for me is one giant Meh...…………………...

So far, the ratings have been strong for baseball, as they were in Europe for the conclusion of the football season. I’m sure they will be strong for the NBA and the NHL.

Of course, no one is forcing anyone to watch and if someone doesn’t want to watch they shouldn't. However, if you think it will be any better next year, at least initially it won’t, not until they arrive with a vaccine.

Tom:

You make a great point about merchandise. All of those gamblers who watch games on TV are not out there buying jerseys, hats etc. Nor are they attending games and buying $20 beers while attending games.

Are you sure about your numbers?
Other reports are that ratings are crashing for both the NBA and MLB.

Is that like The Onion, it reads like sarcasm...…………the "woke" comment/term reeks of sarcasm.

Breitbart is a conservatively postured site. It’s not officially sarcastic or satirical, but they certainly would only use the term “woke” in a mocking or derogatory way.

Seeing Brady practice in Tampa Bay gear seems so odd, almost like it was photo shopped.

He looks like an idiot in that get up, man oh man is that uniform hideous.

Five worst NFL uniforms in no particular order; Tampa, Jacksonville, Tennessee (they'd be better off wearing tuxedos), Ravens, Texans.

Five best in no particular order; Green Bay, San Francisco, LA Chargers, Raiders, Cowboys.

As much as I hate to say it I also like the original Ram’s logo. That hue of blue coupled with the yellow is a true classic.

The Bucs signed Fournette..................wow, what a wagon Tampa is going to be, Brady must think he's dreaming surrounded by all of that talent;

Fournette
Evans
Godwin
Gronk
Howard

Their tackles are turnstyles, so as long as Brady can read his progressions, he'll be fine.............have to give Tampa credit, they could realistically crown champions in the NHL, MLB and NFL; has any other city had three champions in the same year?

Pittsburgh had 2, but not 3, but George, don't forget, we are still forever known as the City of Champions :) In all seriousness, I have represented a few Fortune companies located in the Burgh and had 2 clients from separate Companies who answered their phones that way. You gotta believe baby!

Ive said it once, I’ll say it again. I have always really liked the way all the Pittsburgh teams have the same color uniforms.

Never heard of the team before never mind the player. However this guy is what a sports role model should be like. Pity not a few more like him.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Tyler Eifert said he will honor slain retired police officer David Dorn on his helmet.

I note he has previously had Pat Tillmans name on his shoes.

I liked their teal and black sweaters a lot better, I know the owners of the Bruins were pretty pissed when the NHL allowed the Penguins to use the same colors as their team..............never knew there was a patent on colors...............^&confuse:confused:

Boston has had two champions three times; 2004 Red Sox and Patriots, 2007 Red Sox and Celtics, 2018 Red Sox and Patriots.

Would have had 3 in 2007 if it wasn't for Opie and the horseshoe up their *** Giants.............

I see that Cam Newton has been named the starter and team captain in New England.

If they win the Super Bowl then all debates about who the greatest coach in NFL history will be over.

However, according to the NFL network it is irrelevant. Mahomes and that fraud Andy Reid are going to win the next 8 to 10 Super Bowls....
