N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (6 Viewers)

I have to hand it to him, money buys good lawyers; either that or those hayseeds in Florida bungled the case.

That’s the whole point of having money: you can afford the best lawyers. However, in this case Kraft won because the video evidence was improperly obtained and the police didn’t sufficiently minimize the scope of their surveillance when applying for a warrant to film there. As such, the filming violated his Fourth Amendment rights and those of other defendants.

In other words, Cletus and Billy Bob bungled the case.

Gee, never saw that coming.

I don't think Kraft was too concerned about the lose of any draft picks...
or suspensions...
and definitely not fines either...
what's money to him?

the team was certainly not on his agenda for banning the tape...
he would throw them under the bus in a second to squash this...

his biggest concern was that X-rated video was not released for public viewing...
that is something he could never live down...

The warrant wasn’t narrow enough. The authorities probably thought they could draft a sloppy warrant and that Kraft would just pay the fine.

As if things this year were not bad enough. That would be the capper.

The Niners’ season is all but over. They are absolutely decimated by injuries. In all honesty I could understand if it was week 8 or 9 but week 3?

agreed...
should at least be fined or suspended if not both...
that was a dirty play that was uncalled for...
the tackle was finished when they hit the ground...

I just saw the replay, that kind of move is beyond ridiculous. The play is over and the tackler literally makes a move with a clear intent to injure.

The NFL has a chance to send a message on this one, let’s see if they do it.

This is a refreshing take on a tough, game deciding call from Sean McVay:

“That’s not something that I’m going to dwell on because the reality is, is that it never comes down to one play,” he said. “You’re not going to get me to make an excuse about that. In a lot of instances, I think those refs have to make decisions that they feel like they see in live action and it’s not my position to question those things. I think we want to continue to educate our players on how to compete with a mindset that they aren’t able to be restricted, in terms of what they’re doing. So, that’s where we look for the clarity, but there was a lot of things that occurred in that game and it’ll never come down to one play. I think that’s the message and that’s what I genuinely believe.”

Asked plainly if he thought it was pass interference, McVay once again declined to share his opinion. He clearly doesn’t want to dwell on the controversial call, even if the Rams would have won the game had the flag not been thrown.

Breaking news; several players and staff on the Titans have tested positive, they are shut down for the week, same deal with the Vikings, their games this week are in serious jeapardy.

Meanwhile in non football news, here in MA; three start days of 500 plus positives, first time this has happened since mid May................hospitalizations are up too.....................we're starting to head in the wrong direction.

The NHL and NBA played in bubbles, while baseball planned on doubleheaders etc. The NFL doesn’t seem to have much of a plan when it comes to potential outbreaks within teams and how to schedule and reschedule games.

"NFL sent another strongly-worded memo to team executives, GMs and HCs today, urging all to be in compliance with game-day protocols (wearing masks). “We will address lack of compliance with accountability measures that may include...suspensions and/or forfeiture of draft picks.”

Forfeiture of draft picks?

Just take the first round pick from New England now and get it over with......................

If they can't make players stand for the National Anthem, you might wonder what authority they are using to force compliance with the masks. But life is short. So good luck to them.

Different issues. Players have unions, non-players don’t.

Part of the mask issue is perception. The sight of a mask-less person yelling and screaming is a bad look for the NFL as it tries to reassure the public that it enforces and encourages COVID 19 safety.

Can someone in the NFL front office please figure out how to schedule better games for Thursday Night Football?

Last week it was Miami vs. Jacksonville, this week it was the Jets vs. the Broncos.

Apparently every team gets a shot at playing on Thursday night, so these sort of match ups are what you end up with.

Gase=dead man walking a whopping 20 games into his coaching tenure in NY, it was all downhill from the beginning, those crazy eyes at his introductory press conference were something else......................

I watched the game and thought it was generally entertaining. Jets defense was completely undisciplined; maybe that’s a function of Gregg Williams. I thought both offenses had some moments; Brett Rypien wasn’t bad. The game was lost for the Jets when late in the game and trailing 27-25, they had a 4th and 1 deep in Broncos territory and Gase opted for the FG. Had they gone for it and made it and scored, they would have been up 32-27 and maybe won. They are a poorly managed team in all respects: terrible coach, GM and ownership. They are unwatchable.

It’s suck for Trevor time.

I see that Cam Newton has tested positive. You have to wonder whether in a contact sport like football, completing a season in this environment is possible, unless players and staff go into a bubble.
