N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

You're welcome...……..:wink2:

It's an old boxing reference; when a prize fighter is trying to hold onto his title belt, his management lines up a bunch of stiffs, ie, tomato cans, for him to fight.

And QB's like Folsie who catch lighting in a bottle and then get their balls washed forever are to me tomato cans.

I've heard the term, I love old boxing, just never in reference to Foles
still LOL over it.

strange calls and weird penalties this game

What a g-d disappointment :(

Good year, just not a good ending.

that's fine with me...
not that I think Dallas has a chance against either...
but I would rather play the Rams in LA...
nobody want to play Brees in New Orleans...

George...
I wouldn't want to face Philly and Foles again...
twice a year is enough...
Foles is more than competent...
and the rest of the team is better than that...
they're peaking right now...

Their secondary is a dumpster fire, if Tribshitsky hits wide open receivers in stride today, he's got two more TD's easily.

Unbelievable, yet another Philly miracle.

Why do I have this sinking feeling they beat the Saints 42-41 and the Cowboys beat the Rams, host the NFCCG and lose to Folsie and the 9-7 Iggles.

I would consider that a successful season...
and a step in the right direction if the Cowboys beat the Rams...
Dallas is a 7 point dog...

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/

but it's not gonna happen...

I still don't understand how they held him to 10 points a few months ago...
Brees will have a 300 + yard passing day...
maybe 400...
I cannot see the Saints losing at home to anyone...
much less Dallas...

heartbreak for the Bears, I thought they had it. Man, they will looked at missed opps on game film. The offense didn't deliver consistently and some of the play call didn't help them out. Bears screwed this one and the Eagles made the right call at the right time.

Wow.

As to the Ravens, well, I think the flurry at the end is why I hate Prevent D - Chargers got lazy after a brilliant run. They out played, out coached and beat the Ravens for 55 minutes. However, the last 5 were interesting. Again, I believe the better team won and the Ravens will have a lot of work to do this offseason. If they are going with Lamar, they better come up with an offense for him b/c you can't run the 2 minute drill the entire game. On to next week, which I predict will be a little more high scoring, I believe the QB's will show up!

Since I have had to put up locally with a lot of jabs at the Steelers, I will be looking forward to tomorrow morning, it sure got a realm of "quiet" to the air very quickly around here! 1 and ddddone. ^&grin Also, earlier post on Ray Lewis...………………………….I don't really have much respect for him, way too many questions that go back to that murder trial that were never answered.

Looking forward to the Rams and Cowboys game. That brings back a lot of memories from the 70s and 80s. The last time I can remember the Cowboys coming to LA for a playoff game, Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson guaranteed a Cowboys win. They did and he intercepted a pass for a TD and dunked the ball over the goal post. He was a real clown. Ahead of his time in the NFL dunce parade. He was later arrested for assaulting a disabled girl. His saga continued when he - wait for it - won the lottery! You can't make that stuff up. The Rams probably match up better with Dallas than Chicago. The Bears D gave them fits. I like their chances at home. Not so much if they have to go to New Orleans.

I'm looking forward to that game at the colesseum; football is meant to be played outdoors on grass, not in a sterile bubble on phony turf.

I'm guessing the crowd will be 50/50 Rams/Cowboys as Dallas travels better than any other team.

Should be a fun weekend of football, will see how things shake out.

I think it is worth noting that Jackson was a rookie QB starting in a playoff game. I am not sure how his career will play out, but I think he played better than most people expected in his first year.

He was a great athlete at Louisville but they always got pounded in the big games. Maybe that is not a reflection on him per se, but it was a definite pattern in college. He certainly struggled in the pocket. Some of his passes were downright awful.

Very true, but couple of things happened - Chargers beat their game plan in the 1st qtr and Jackson's passing was atrocious and his indecision was worse. SO you have to ask, what was Harbaugh and the coaches doing? Answer - nothing, they made zero adjustment until late 4th qtr when they first brought in their heavy look (run blocking and it gave them a few more yards) and then ultimately their 2 minute drill which if we are all being honest, a 2 minute offense from any team gives even the best Defense big issues. I don't know the stats, but most 2 minute offenses result in points or they run out of clock, the "big defensive turnover" is not generally the norm (IMO). So, much to my point, he played bad and the coaches did nothing til it was too late to help him out. I think if I saw correctly, he was responsible for 25 total yards going into the 4th, you just can't win like that.

On another note, I still don't understand why Harbaugh doesn't test the market, it would be a great year to go out to another team, get a lucrative long term deal. Why stay for a 1 year extension and uncertainty? In the middle of the season, you and the owner already parted ways, now that's just forgotten? If the Ravens would negotiate and sign him to a long term deal, IMO that is not a good answer for either side. Sometimes a fresh start is needed even for successful coaches and he is arguably a successful one.

The Chargers put the anaconda on the Ravens. They slowed the game down, never hiked the ball with more than 5 seconds on the play clock and kept it simple on offense. They knew this would be a low scoring game and played it conservative. Kudos to their coach for not just turning Rivers loose. I bet they come out gunning against the Pats though. That may be a shootout.

Agree, it will also be interesting to see what defense they use in New England. If they go with speed and Man Double, it will be interesting to see what adjustments the Pats have made since the Steelers. You could argue that the Chargers are faster. All of that said, hard to bet against the Pats at home in January with Rivers having historic issues against them.

Sounds like maybe some lousy weather for the AFC games. Cold and maybe snow. That probably helps the Colts and Pats. Those west coast teams like the Chargers never seem to fair well in cold weather games.

Probably helps the Pats but I think the Chiefs too because the Colts play indoors.

I just wonder how much the cold and snow will impact the Chiefs high octane offense? Bad weather usually helps the D in which case the Colts might be able to ugly the game down and keep it close. I don't see them winning a shootout with the Chiefs. But yes, the Colts playing indoors probably is not a great sign.

I think you’re correct. The Colts are flying high right now and have little to lose. I have to think the Chiefs will be very aware of their recent playoff history. Of the four games this weekend, I think this one has the highest likelihood of an upset.

Meanwhile it doesn't look like weather will be a factor in the NFC as it will be about 60 degrees at kickoff time in LA and the Saints play in a dome.
