N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (4 Viewers)

Looks like the 49ers may have been a little hasty in cutting Ruben Foster as Florida has dropped charges against him.

No matter what happened they were going to release him. After the first round of accusations did not lead to charges he agreed to not even be around the accuser. He broke that agreement with the 49er's front office by flying that same woman out to an away game to stay in his hotel room.

I was watching the NFL Network earlier today and one analyst started talking about the Giants and Eli Manning. He said that when all stats are taken into consideration Manning was not as bad as the media made him out to be. He also went onto say that Manning only played with Odell Beckham for 12 games and yet he outplayed many playoff bound QBs.

So I checked. He was right. Statistically he out-ranked 7 of the 12 playoff QB's.

I guess QB's do get all the blame when the team loses.

That may be true, but Big Ben was #1 in total Passing yards at 5129, yes you read it, he threw more than Mahomes, guess what, we are sitting at home this week. Need a complete team to be good and end of the day, neither he nor Eli won when it mattered.

Just 2 cents!

Stats don’t mean a lot and I don’t care how you slice it, since 2011 they’ve only made the playoffs once and he’s become gun shy, not that I blame him. He’s not a mobile QB and he can’t move. The Giants made a mistake by not drafting a QB, when this year was replete with them. Manning has probably a year left and now they have to scramble to find one who can take his place in 2020. Interestingly, Carl Banks, whose opinion and knowledge I respect, and some of the radio guys were discussing Nick Mullins as a possibility.

Tom & Brad:

Great points. I think that stats do not tell the whole story of any player.

Mullins is actually an example of that. His numbers aren't great but as noted by Brad some analysts say his football IQ is extremely high and in the right system he could excel.

What the heck happened to the Titans???? Once you get past their D line, they are not good. I also thought the Offensive game plan stunk. Colts played very well first half and then just kind of hung on to not lose it. Odd strategies all the way around.

Cowboy game was exciting, Janikowski injury killed the Seahawks, Geez He is OLD! He was my favorite kicker as he came out of FSU I feel like a lifetime ago!

Ravens left their offense in the barn and are being FG'ed to death, 12-0 at the half. Need an attitude and game plan adjustment at the half or this is a done deal. -- Al

Wow is this Ravens/Chargers game exciting.

The Ravens offense is beyond putrid, it's like something out of the 1920's/Single wing/Notre Dame box.

How in the name of God did they win the division?

Jackson is putrid; goes back to pass, his first read is covered, he either heaves it wildly downfield or tucks and runs.

Prediction; Flacco starts the second half and marches up and down the field with his heave the ball downfield on third and long, draws the DPI and keeps the chains moving.

Agree. It's Flacco time. -- Al

Nice game for the Chargers. Very methodical. They milked the clock on every drive and shortened the game. They knew they were not going to score 40 points. So they uglied the game down. Good to see that Ray Lewis finally found that white jacket. Talk about tone deaf. The NFL and Ravens touting him at the beginning of the game was ridiculous. If the Bills ever make the playoffs, they can bring back OJ to dance around on the field.

Well, further proof that it's hard to win if your offense hides it's head for 50 minutes and the Qb can't hold onto the ball. Chargers tried to lose it but Baltimore wouldn't let them. -- Al

Wouldn't it be more appropriate if OJ drove around the field in a white Bronco?:wink2:^&grin -- Al

Yes, Al Cowlings can drive and the fans will cheer like mad and chant OJ, OJ. The NFL will sell a ton of his old jerseys. The age of idiocracy. Is it only cold and windy in Chicago when the Rams play there? It looks like Hawaii today.

I just took out the trash, trust me it's not Hawaii here, windy and cold.
Football is a game of violence and mayhem, can we leave O.J. out of it and keep it safe:)

So far today, no Folsie magic, not one but two INT's, the second one into triple coverage off his back foot.

Where were those throws 48 weeks ago, the natural tomato can that he is.

Tomato Can? My god that's funny
George I will never look at him again without thinking that.

You're welcome...……..:wink2:

It's an old boxing reference; when a prize fighter is trying to hold onto his title belt, his management lines up a bunch of stiffs, ie, tomato cans, for him to fight.

And QB's like Folsie who catch lighting in a bottle and then get their balls washed forever are to me tomato cans.

in the East...I like Philly...
they have the best chance of advancing...

I like both Indy and Philly as dark horse favorites......

George...
I wouldn't want to face Philly and Foles again...
twice a year is enough...
Foles is more than competent...
and the rest of the team is better than that...
they're peaking right now...
