N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

my neighbor's goes off all the time...when the police come...all they do is check the doors and walk the premises...

when I was in business...I gave the police a key to my front door...in case of a burglary at night...

at my house...I have an extra key mounted in a lock box on the exterior of my garage door...it needs a code to open it...but I have never given it to the police...maybe he has one on file with his local PD...

I would think it would be an illegal search if they found the cocaine in his desk...or night stand...or kitchen drawer...
I would find it hard to believe it was lying on the kitchen table in plain view...

he has also had renovations on his house in the last year and has spent very little time there this year...according to neighbors...

If it turns out the drugs are his, he's a moron.
If he let a friend do and leave drugs at his house, he's a bigger moron.
Athletes are not brain surgeons, but common sense is not hard to incorporate into your life; just don't do something stupid to ruin your career.

George...
I sincerely hope it all blows over and he gets to play...
the money really corrupts these athletes sense of invulnerability...

Sources tell ESPN's Ed Werder that the Dallas Cowboys' latest offer to Ezekiel Elliott would make him one of the two highest-paid running backs in the NFL. That offer would be more than Le'Veon Bell's $13.5 million per year with the Jets and under Todd Gurley's $14.375 million per year with the Rams.

I hope this story is not true...
and the Cowboy's organization has not succumbed to Elliott's demands...
that's a lot of money for a running back with 2 years left on his contract...

especially with your QB and #1 wide receiver not signing a long term contract yet...

I would give him the tag for this year if it were me...
develop Pollard and/or draft a 3rd or 4th round next year or trade for one this year...

his no show fines are over $3 million now...
which I'm sure they will concede as a good will gesture...

if it is true...
he would be an absolute complete utter fool not to take it...

Cam Newton was injured in a meaningless preseason game. You have to wonder at coaches that play star players in these games. Newton was already recovering from a shoulder injury. It's not like they don't have plenty of practice time to get ready for the season.

It seems like this happens every year, and now it is not just starters.

The Eagles have lost their back-up QB's to injury this pre-season and it got so bad that they signed and played Josh Josh McCown last night.

They should just have joint practices, let the fans attend them for free but still charge $800 for a hot dog and $1,000 for a beer. That way the greedy owners and players can still make a dollar or 2.

Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

So I guess the Colt's strategy to "Suck for Luck" did not pan out.

Gee, what a shame.

He made the right decision. He’s a Stanford graduate and has a career ahead of him outside of football. Why sacrifice your body and brain for a brutal game that leaves many people broken.

wow...now that's a head line...
a major blow to the team...
bummer for the Colts...

the Texans just lost their starting running back tonight in the 1st quarter...
Lamar Miller...
torn ACL...
MRI to confirm tomorrow...
he might be out for the season...
another devastating preseason injury...

If Hollywood ever does a remake of the remake of the remake of "The Wolfman", he'd be perfect for the role.

He's got a face for radio, one only a Mother could love.

You have to feel for the Colts; if it weren’t for bad luck, they wouldn’t have no Luck at all...………..

After the Colts preseason game at home last night, Luck was booed off the field.

I'm at a loss for words.

No class comes to mind.

Fans -- well, not all -- don't really care if you're hurt, etc. or how a person's life may be affected. They just care about "how it affects me." It's an attitude we see throughput society, not just sports.

Great post.

I saw a bit of this over the off season when Gronkowski announced his retirement, some fans were upset as it hurt the team.

He's getting out before he ends up in a wheelchair, good for him, how many athletes do we see hang on well past their prime and they're a shadow of their former selves.

There is a life after football, best of luck to any of them, they earn every penny they make.

boxers are the worst...
you could probably name 100 boxers that have gone too far...

Larry Holmes was 53 when he did 10 rounds with Butterbean...
yea...I bet that drew a big "pay for view" audience...:rolleyes2:

George Foreman was 48 in his last fight...
like he needed the money?

I don't know how that works...
but I can't imagine the insurance would eat it....
if the Colts freely elected to give it to him...
skipping the option to retrieve it...
seems like it absolves the insurance company's liability to me...

but it's pretty generous none the less...it's a big number not to go after...25 million...

he could have had a much better career if they ever got him some decent O-linemen to keep him from getting pounded...
I think he was just tired of getting beat up on...
which makes me feel that Luck doesn't think much of this year's protection...

next man up...{eek3}

It cuts both ways. Fans will forgive almost any transgression if it is committed by someone on their team. Murder, assault, cheating is dismissed by homers. Players are treated like gods in the eyes of sports fans. I see people in Ray Lewis and OJ jerseys. Tom Brady could murder an old lady on live TV and any criticism of him would be dismissed as the result of jealous haters.

How old are we talking here; some 92 year old blue hair who's got one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel or a 74 year old still full of life?

I'm going to need specifics.

And that knife cuts both ways too; fans of opposing teams want a player tarred, feathered and hung in the public square over every issue because it will positively impact their team, so who's ****ting who here.
