N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

That is sad but true.

I think he should be...
I think NY somewhat inhibited his potential over the years without an offensive line...
he was a great pocket passer...
he just had no legs...
I can't believe his won loss record is only 500...

this should bode well for AB...
blood is thicker than water...

Marquise Brown is the unnamed player in the lawsuit against Antonio Brown
Posted by Mike Florio on September 15, 2019, 6:50 PM EDT

The lawsuit filed last week against Patriots receiver Antonio Brown mentions that another football player was present on one of the evenings that culminated in an alleged incident between Brown and his accuser. That player wasn’t named in the lawsuit.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, that player is Ravens receiver Marquise Brown.

Marquise Brown, the cousin of Antonio Brown, faces no accusations. But Marquise Brown surely will be interviewed by the NFL to determine any information that he may have regarding anything he witnessed on the evening in May 2018 when Antonio Brown allegedly raped Britney Taylor.

Marquise Brown is expected to give information that will support his cousin’s position. His relationship with Antonio becomes an obvious issue when it comes to whether Marquise’s version should be accepted without reservation.

Regardless, Marquise Brown will undoubtedly hear from the league, and the league will want to hear what if anything he knows.

on ESPN...
they just said Brees has seen a specialist...
and was told he has a torn ligament in his thumb that requires surgery...
he should be out at least to 4 to 8 games...
Bridgewater will replace him til then...

That's a tough break. I'm not a fan of the Saints and particularly Sean "Bounty Hunter" Payton but Brees is a solid guy. And the Saints were likely a favorite to win the NFC. Bridgewater looked shaky yesterday. Granted they had not practiced with him as the starter but that probably finishes their season.

There are several Qbs in the HoF that probably don't belong there if you go by stats alone such as career won/loss or TD to Int ratio. For instance, Sonny Jurgensen and Joe Namath both are sub .500 in the W/L column while guys like Bobby Layne, Ken Stabler, and Namath are all way on the negative side of the Td/Int ratio. Based on his W/L record Eli Manning may be borderline, but his SB wins, Td/Int ratio (+121), and total yards would all seem to indicate he will be an easy HoF selection. -- Al

You have to watch him day in and day out. He was a good QB but not a great one. There are some people you know who belong in the HOF: Brees, Brady, Big Ben, Rodgers. You don’t have to even think about it. The decision is automatic. No matter how bad the rest of their team is, they elevate them. Eli doesn’t; he’s as mediocre as is the rest of the team. When you have to make a case for someone, they don’t belong. When he’s eligible, this will be debated hotly in NY.

QB Win\Loss record is not a thing- don't fall for it. It is completely meaningless and easily the dumbest stat in football at any level. There are SO many variables in that equation- it's borderline meaningless for pitchers- especially in todays baseball.

I think Manning should be in the Hall, perhaps not a first ballot but definitely consistent and won enough. I wouldn't deny him.

I had to look up Eli's numbers since I have never seen him as that great.

He is 7th in all time passing yards, and with 9 more yards he will pass Roethlisberger (who is out for the season) and move into 6th place. In all time passing TD's he is 8th and with 2 more TD's he will pass Roethlisberger again and move into 7th. You add in the 2 Super Bowl wins and I think he is a Hall of Famer.

All that proves he's a great compiler of stats. In the years since the Giants won their second SB under him, he has been abysmal. At one point he was 25 or so games over .500; he's now at .500 and will be going below that, assuming he's not benched. The Coach has not made any promises about who will start next week. In the years the Giants made the playoffs (other than their SB years), he's not gotten them past the round they were in. In other words, no wins in the playoffs. At the time of their second SB win, yes, he was a good QB, but he's gone drastically downhill since then. I'm not even sure if any time would take him in a trade right now. A person's career has to be considered in the totality and in the totality he's borderline.

He will probably get in but for the reasons George mentioned. Never hurts to be from a big or the biggest media market.

actually...I didn't think any of it was very funny...
it's a sad documentation of a twisted man...

HOLY MOLEY!

Hire a clown and it brings the circus to town: "Brown found a salmon head in the freezer; Tedeschi said it was intended for a soup, but Brown took it as some kind of mafia-style threat on his life."

on Eli...
I guess I can see why people disagree...
if you go by his win/loss record...
it's not an amazing career...
but the accomplishment of winning 2 of the 52 Superbowls so far is impressive...
he was awarded MVP on both of those...
