N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

Rams offense looks anemic so far. Sean Peyton will probably now ask for a rule change on fumble recoveries after the refs blew that one dead.

I think it’s fair to say that NE more than covered.

Yeah, they pulled that game out today by the skin or their teeth...……….

So far, they've outscored their opponents 76-6 this year, they have not allowed a TD in the last 13 quarters, surrendering a grand total of 9 points over that time.

If the defense keeps playing like this, it won't matter what the offense does.

Holy smokes.

Actually they've allowed 6 points in the last 13 quarters, averaging 1.5 points per game in 2019 so far.

Yikes.

Brad...
they have consistently been one of the best bets against the spread...
week in and week out for years...
the mentality of their offense is to keep scoring all 60 minutes...
no letting up...
like a boxer that has you on the ropes...
they just keep punching til the bell rings...

The Bears/Donkos ending was something else.

Denver scores a TD, misses the PAT, there's a flag for offsides, so they go for 2 and get it.

The Bears have 30 seconds to get into FG range; first there is a horrendous roughing the passer call, just brutal, then Tribshitsky throws a pass down the middle, clock hits 00, but nope, they give the Bears a time out and one second left, some ballbag named piñata/pinnater/peterpeterpumkineater drills a 52 yard field goal to win the game.

Holy Christ what a gift win that was for the Bears...………...their offense behind Tribshitsky is offensive, harkens back to the days of Papa Bear Halas...……………

This might sound nuts to say after two weeks, but you have Chiefs/Patriots/and I guess the Ravens in the AFC, Dallas/Saints/Rams/Eagles in the NFC and the rest of the league is hot garbage...………………...

Not a broncos fan but that roughing the passer call in the last 30 seconds against them was a joke.

They should just put a rule in that you can't hit the QB period and get it over with.

That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen and that's saying something.

Here's a typical Boston sports writers take on the game today;

" MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Spygate. Deflategate. OrchidsofAsiaGate. Now Antoniogate.

Better than any team in the history of professional sports, the Patriots know what to do when they are charged with cheating or ethical bankruptcy.

Just win, baby. Take no prisoners. Fire all your guns at once. Deny, deny, then accuse. Give everybody the finger and march toward another Super Bowl Sunday. Unleash members of your fanboy nation as born-again civil libertarians, righteous in their pursuit of touchdowns over everything else."

Yup, just about sums it up......………...……….I don't care what anyone thinks or says, just win, just keep racking up Super Bowl appearances and wins.

The rest does not matter; I root for the laundry, period...…...……...…......the fact that it enrages this writer and others of his profession in this town makes it all the more sweeter...………...….

this is ridiculous!

Miami at Dallas next week...

Dallas opened at -16...
and has now jumped to -21...

that's just stupid...

I won't bet on them next week...

I'd take Dallas -21 vs that dumpster fire from Miami posing as a NFL team, they are beyond terrible, 0-16 sounds about right.

George...
Dallas is not New England...
Prescott is not Brady...
Cooper...Gallup and Cobb...
are not Edelman...Brown and Gordon...
Dallas doesn't beat teams by 21 points...
they like a more controlled game to chew up the clock with Elliott...

I won't bet against them and jinx myself...^&grin
but I won't take that bet next week...
win by 1 point and I'll be happy...

Prescott looked pretty good to me today...…………….plus that ground game will shred the Dolphins.

I'm telling you Miami is not an NFL team, Alabama and Clemson could give them a run for their money.

It's your dough, not going to talk you into it, but man oh man do they stink.

Eli Manning has won 2 Superbowls...
MVP in both bowls...
1 of 5 players to win it more than once...
he's a 4 time Pro bowler...
always stayed out of trouble with a clean image...
I have always liked him and felt he never had a good offensive line...
I think he would have been much better with some blocking...
I read today that his lifetime record is now 116-116...
that's hard to believe...
the Giants are not a great team this year...
and he may retire under 500 lifetime...
I wonder if he will ever be elected into the Hall of Fame someday...

The perspective of a NY fan: he hasn’t been good for years. Since they won the SB, he’s had one winning season. When they drafted Jones, they should have cut ties with Eli. When they sit him and the odds are looking good this season, he won’t be happy. I don’t think he’s HOF material. Jim Plunkett is not in so why should Eli be?

Opie won two Super Bowls.

And he played for the Giants.

He's 100% getting in to the HOF.

Get the sense that Brees might be out for an extended time. He never made any effort to get back in the game like he knew he had a serious injury to his hand. The Saints are not the same team without him.

Just went through a whole football season here without my teams best player now Bree's is injured Deja Vu.

I watched that game...he smacked his hand pretty good...
the announcers said he couldn't grip the ball...
they put in Bridgewater...who is the most expensive back up QB in the league with a contract of 7 million a year...
Brees didn't look good while he was in there...but he has never been the best road QB...

the Cowboys play them in 2 weeks...in New Orleans...he's a different QB at home...
nobody wants to play against Brees in the Superdome...
I have it marked as a loss on my schedule...
he's really good in that LOUD indoor stadium...
I'm looking for updates on his return status this morning...

Cowboys beat them last year in Dallas...13-10...
the Cowboy's best defensive game of the year...
held him to barley over 100 yards in the air...
I'm sure he want redemption...

on ESPN...
they just said Brees has seen a specialist...
and was told he has a torn ligament in his thumb that requires surgery...
he should be out at least to 4 to 8 games...
Bridgewater will replace him til then...
