N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

I rewatched Super Bowl 36 last night.

That was back when you could actually play defense and pummel the QB and that is what the Patriots did, they harassed Warner all game long, they manhandled him. They also beat up the RB's and WR's at the line of scrimmage, back then you could contact an offensive player until the ball was in the air, none of the BS now.

Most of Warner's throws were wobbling ducks with no zip on them;he had an injured thumb, it was bothering him all game long, the Rams also lost two starting OLinemen, one of whom blew out his groin on the PIC 6 he threw, he's the guy who got beat on that play, allowing Vrabel to pressure Warner and it led to the INT.

Not sure what to tell anyone who thinks they cheated their way to that win, if they played that game with a healthy Warner 100 times, the Rams would have won it 99.

Just like in the 2008 Super Bowl where Brady played with a broken foot vs the Jints.

Any given Sunday as they say.

It is so difficult to believe that game was 17 years ago. I don't think I had even started collecting toy soldiers yet!

What I love about that whole Deflategate game is if you take away all pats first half points (when under inflated balls used) and only allow points scored after refs replaced balls, pats still won by a mile!

The Patriots were up 17-7 at the half, a half where they played with allegedly underinflated footballs.

They won the game 45-7, so they outscored the Dolts 28-0 in the second half with properly inflated footballs.

How is that denial?

They played better with properly inflated footballs than with allegedly underinflated footballs.

Not opinions, but facts.

But don't let the facts get in the way.

Good Lord.

When is it ever going to end.

WHEN!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"!?"!?!?!?!?!?!?!"?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm currently rewatching the Patriots/Falcons Super Bowl, just spectacular.

Jack Buck with the call "Toss to White...……………..HE'S IN!!!!!!!!!!...…………..PATRIOTS WIN THE SUPER BOWL, BRADY WITH HIS FIFTH, WHAT A COMEBACK!"

Ya'll hate us because you ain't us.

End of story.

After Deflategate, the following year the league gauged the air pressure in footballs after every game.

Where is that data?

It got shredded, that's where it is.

Why?

Because they found out that in cold weather, footballs lose air pressure, much like your car tires do overnight when it's cold out.

But hey, don't report those facts.

Bottom line is this; The Patriots get "taxed" and penalized for no other reason than they win too much.

The more they win, the more BS pops up directed at them.

The story that broke about the lazer pointed at Brady in KC; what do you think would have happened if that occurred in Foxboro?

On that bogus, horseshit non call in the Rams/Saints game that gifted the Rams a trip to the Super Bowl, if the Patriots had won that way, everyone would be screaming that the refs are in their pocket and the league is too. Everyone is crying about the offsides call, the player should have gotten a warning; yeah, sure, ok, warn the moron he's lined up a foot offsides.

Such hypocrites, cannot accept the fact that this is the greatest coach/QB combo in NFL history.

And for anyone whining that the Chefs didn't get the ball in OT; it's up to their defense to, oh, I don't know, PLAY DEFENSE AND STOP THE PATRIOTS.

I'm not saying the Patriots aren't great but has there ever been a worse division in the 4 major sports than the AFC East? I mean for 18 years now the Bills , Jets and Dolphins have stunk. It doesn't look like any of them are getting better any time soon either. The Dolphins fire their coach ,who did nothing there, and the Jets snap him up like he's Don Shula in his prime. I know they have Darnold but he doesn't look like a sure thing to me. The Dolphins and the Bills are constantly spinning their wheels between 6-10 and 9-7. So unless Brady retires the Patriots already have a leg up on the league for 2019 at 6-0 or 5-1 with some fluke win by the Dolphins.

Yup- no doubt, the division sucks. But winning the division gives them a bye. Not Super Bowl rings 😀

Funny you mention that; since 2001, their winning percentage vs the AFC East is .711, vs the rest of the league, .721. So it's a push.

They lost the division to the Jets in 2002 and the Dolphins in 2008, they also got knocked out of the 2010 playoffs as the #1 seed to the Jets, they also lost back to back games to the Jets and the Dolphins in 2015, thus losing HFA in the playoffs and having to go to Denver, where they lost the AFCCG. This year they lost HFA thanks to the Miami miracle, but they managed to beat the Chiefs in KC, something frankly I did not see them doing.

Division games are for the most part rock fights, a lot of ugly wins along the way for sure.

My best friends son showed me this;

Worst loss for NFL teams;

Raiders 2001 division round
Chargers 2006 division round
Ravens 2011 AFC Championship
Steelers 2004 AFC Championship
Seahawks SB
Rams SB
Panthers SB
Falcons SB
Eagles SB
Chiefs 2018 AFC Championship
Jaguars 2017 AFC Championship

Not sure about that list, the Steelers losing to GB in the 2010 SB might be worse, as was the Jaguars losing to the Titans three times back in 2000. The Iggles also lost the SB to the Raiders, but they got demolished in that game, that was the year that lunatic Vermeil had the Iggles wear they uniforms on the team flight to the game and made them do push ups on the tarmac when they got off the plane, what a loon that guy was.

That said; no wonder why NFL fans hate the Patriots so much, that list is roughly 1/3rd of the league.

Gee, too bad.

Proving my theory that there is an anti-Patriots bias among NFL fans and opposing players, this is the 3rd year in a row not a single Patriot will be playing in the Pro Bowl.

Not one.

George...
weren't Brady and Gilmore selected this year?
hasn't Brady been selected for the last 10 consecutive years?
hasn't he declined to play in 10 of the last 11 he was selected in?

They can't "play" in the Pro Bowl (tomorrow) because they're "playing" in the SB (next Sunday)…………..:wink2:

so that proves your "bias" theory?

Brady has been selected to the Pro Bowl 14 times in his career but by choice, injury or rule has only played in 2 of them.

To quote the great Foghorn Leghorn, "It was a joke son!"

And I guess a bad one at that, looks like it went over like a lead balloon.

The week in between the championship games and the SB is torture, just glad it's over...…………………..

Been in the league 17 years.

Been to the AFCCG 13 times.

Been to the Super Bowl 9 times.

Has won 5, if he wins a 6th, he'll join two other players who've won 6 NFL championships, the other two played back in the stone age when there was no Super Bowl, so he'll be the only player in the Super Bowl era with 6 wins.

Was injured and out for all of the 2008 season; that team was loaded and still finished 11-5 with a back up QB running the show, had he not gotten injured, he probably gets to another AFCCG.

A sixth round draft pick, was the fourth string QB here his rookie year.

Not some golden boy #1 first round pick.

But "Ace" thinks he's a cheater.

Good for you "Ace", Brady is a millionaire married to a super model, I really don't think he gives a rats *** what you or anyone else thinks of him.
