Napoleonic Paintings You Would Like to Represent (2 Viewers)

I hope for Austrians also, sometime down the road. But in keeping with the Borodino and Waterloo, I would like to see Poles, Cossacks, Dutch, more Prussians, Saxons and Italians first.
The Austrians have beautiful uniforms though. :D
They are nice but how in the world did they keep them clean; can you imagine the powder and grass stains, not to mention the blood.:cool:

Though repeatedly defeated, it always rose again..." - Gunther Rothemberg

This William Sadler scene from Waterloo would be a bit of a challenge at this scale.;)

There are some great paintings of the Napoleanic Wars, perhaps more than any other conflict save perhaps the ACW.When Conte did the sets on the Troiani paintings I loved them and they were the first 54mm painted figures I ever got.I got some of the Dale Galleon ones that Britains did around the same time also.It would be nice for the Nap collecters if someone could do the same for them. With the improvements with sculpting and painting they would be awesome.Hell, I might would want to buy some myself. The only drawback would be getting the rights to do them which can be quite expensive.

Hi Marco ,
First Legion have already fulfilled your wish , They have recreated the fantastic painting of the Prussian Attack at Plancenoit by Adolf Northern. I almost had a Heart attack when i first saw the photo's of the First Legion version . Its just one of the many reasons First Legion are number one for me :D They not only make the figures but also the walls and the buildings . Now if they could just get around to the other request on this thread ;) All the best Gebhard

This would be most awesome. I don't how Matt feels about Club Figures, but some different clergy would be interesting. Especially an Russian Orthodox Priest would get my interest. Maybe he could be in the act of blessing either troops going into battle or a canon.
You could also do a two person set of a clergyman ministering to a dying soldier. Just a wild thought.:D

These are all good ideas , I remember reading of a procession of an Icon to bless the troops before the Battle of Borodino . That would be interesting to see. Hey maybe we can get some of the First Legion collectors to come out of their man caves and make some post its been awful quiet lately :D Regards Gebhard

OH, we need some many things before clergy I think. Besides, these wars were one of the few for which religion was not a prime motivation. Not that I would want them for myself but I would think you need some royal families before priests. But then I think we need Rifles, French and British Dragoons, fighting light cavalry for all sides, Portuguese and Spanish soldiers before either of those as well.;):D

To misquote Life of Brian, Rifles! That goes without saying! And French Dragoons! Very yes!! Like I said, it was just a wild thought. We also need German cavalry and another artillery set. I would like a Bavarian Artillery piece or either a mounted British or French. Also since it is Christmas time, I would like to see the Poles make an appearance.

Nothing wrong with clergy , Heck Mr Matt has a whole line dedicated to Warrior Monks :D;)
One of my favorite prints by Troiani is this one from Antietam with the mounted Priest blessing the Irish going into battle very cool ;)

The more that I think on it, The Orthodox Clergy would be very colorful and a great subject. I don't know about the British and German State's Clergy. I can't imagine the French Army having a Chaplain's Corps. For the Peninsula, a Spanish Priest would be cool, but we would have to have the Spanish Army first.
