While not a well known battle, this one featured one of the few successful charges of infantry versus cavalry and includes some French Dragoons that I would very much like to see.;)

It's well known around here, this is Northumberland Fusilier territory.

I have long be waiting for these dismounted (not foot) Dragoons like these to face off against some British lads in green.

These would be awesome and I know it would be expensive, but a horse holder would be an interesting figure. I would assume that they had about the same system of "one in four"holding the bridals as in the American Civil War.

Here is one I am not likely to do but it certainly conveys the drama of a major battle, in this case Smolensk. I like this artist a great deal as well

You raise a very interesting point. I am not sure exactly what the procedure was with French horse handlers, but it certainly would be worth investingating...and I agree, would make some excellent figures, including mix and match horses.

I have not run accross that detail but knowing horses I would expect four would be about all you would want to hold, especially in a combat environment. I wouldn't think it would matter much since at $100 per horse, even 2 would be plenty for this purpose. Speaking of horses and Napoleonic scenes, this Russian artist does a really excellent job with them.;)

Hi Hans, Most of the Russian paintings I have posted are by Alexander Averyanov. You can see his work at this site, especially under battle paintings.

You can find larger versions on the web but I don't know about prints. You would think they have them.

That's more like it ;) I think doing these lads would be a very wise business decision for First Legion $$$$$$$$$ One that may make some collectors not yet collecting First Legions Napoleonic line make the move . All the best Gebhard

Yes those are some possibilities but with the Rifles you need to think Rolica, Coruna, La Porta, Talavera, the Coa, Bucaco, Barrosa, Fuentes D'Orno, Albuera, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vitoria, Maya, San Sebastion, Pyrennes, Roncesvalles, Sorauren, Bera, Nivelle, Orthez, Bayonne, Toulouse, not to mention numerous clashes. One must keep focus on the right things.:D;)

Well just to show some balance, back to the French, here some Dragoons (which we very much need:eek:) at Montmirail;)
