Here's another view showing the full painting in slightly less resolution:

This would be my choice... Thought it would be included by now in a previous post, but did not see it soooooo here it is...
Cuirassiers at Friedland...the command group on horseback would be somethin!

That one is Beautiful , I would be all over a First Legion version of it . All though it wouldn't be cheap ;) but then again if we were pinching penny's we would be elsewhere extolling the virtues of some other more inexpensive products . Thanks for your contribution to this very nice thread . All the best and happy collecting Gebhard

Images of my dreams last night!:p:)

GREAT !!!! Know you made me all fired up again about the Brunswickers :D I have been drooling over those guys for what seems like a lifetime in the workbench section on the First legion website  They are by far my most anticipated release that I know of from First Legion .... I'm sure they will be worth the wait ......no wine before its time ;) , all I have at the moment are some mounted figures from del prado . I'm desperate to have someone do these guys at a higher level and to greater extent . I would love to have a Duke of Brunswick personality figure as well from First Legion he would be a great addition IMO to that fine line ( I know he died at Quatre Bras just incase someone would feel the need to inform me ;) I REALLY WONT THESE GUYS BAD  Gebhard

I feel your pain Gebhard. I have one brunswicker from Tin Bay. I would love to see them released by First Legion. The Prussian Jaegers pictured below would be another great release. I am also anxious for a German cavalry release.
First Legion charged me for the Highlanders today, so they should be shipping soon. Too cool.

Yea I have the Saxon Cuirassier from them IMO they are a step or two above Del prado but both fall way behind First Legion IMO both in terms of sculpting and painting ....I guess I can say that since i own them , And we are I think allowed to voice our opinion without it being considered baiting . I just checked my First Legion account and noticed my Highlander order is marked as payment received as well which means they should be ready to go :D:D Happy Days . I really like they way you think Prussian Jaegers and a German cavalry release IMO it is time for them to get both Cavalry and Artillery. A Prussian staff set is my dream piece , I'm hopping that the web site will soon show shipped and maybe Mr Matt will drop a few Napoleonic surprises as well ;) I'll be looking in on the site today when possible for any updates . All the best my friend ...Gebhard

Ho ho ho highlanders are shipping ???

My big dilemma now is I do want to order all the french line infantry figures which are going to be restocked very soon BUT i do want to order also some of these highlanders, some samurais, some prussians, more russians... Now should i wait for the restocking of the french guys ??? Ah life if so difficult these days.. especially on a sunday morning :)

I was just updating the CTSC collection data base for the Russians and I am again really taken by how impressive the detail and poses are for those lads. There are indeed a temptation, along with the Prussians but I will be going for the French restock first since it has long been on my list to fill out my ranks of those. Afterall, the Guards need plenty of French to fight.;):D

Sadly, I agree about Tin Bay. I tried a couple of British Guards but their sizing is a bit too large and the painting is not up to FL standards; not good things if you are also paying more. Anyway, it will be nice to get the Highlanders.

Yes Tin Bay has some great Ideas that haven't been covered by other manufacturers. I have an Inniskilling Cavalry and an Austrian Infantryman and they don't fit well with First Legion. I do have a Polish Infantryman who looks okay next to FL Old Guard. They are expensive for what you get.
The more I look at all of these great illustrations, I would also REALLY like to see in "the not too distant future" the Rifles and French Dragoons. Frequent opponents in the Sharpe's novels. I also know that Matt said that lancers have been done to death, but....

That one has already been done (not by FL) but it would be interesting to see if it fits in with them.

I hope it does, it's their box illustration! Seriously, I am happy for any First Legion release, but I think that we need some more cavalry, of any type.

I guess the Hussar pigtails would be correct for Borodino? But not for Waterloo. I don't know when the style changed in the French Army.

You and me both mate; you've no idea how much I have said that to our friend.;):D

Agreed, especially cavalry fighting cavalry, something they were better at then breaking squares. Besides I have always loved that painting so here's a better look.

Not that I haven't been looking with longing at the box photo as well.;)
