NBA basketball...................... (2 Viewers)

Look out for the Brooklyn Nets!
Knicks just can't get it right but they continue to fill the arena with corporate sponsors.

I'm glad the Knicks passed on KD; the odds of players coming back from Achilles injuries are low. Kyrie has a spotty record; they preferred him rather than DeAngelo Russell, who is now a Warrior.

Knicks, unlike, past years, have not made any stupid moves. Progress will be slow but it will come; potentially -- and I emphasize that word -- they have some good building blocks. No matter what the Nets do, they are second fiddle in this town.

George...
don't worry...
they Lakers won't ever come back to haunt you or the East...

the league will probably step in and squash the Lakers like they did in 2011...

when they worked a deal with the league owned New Orlean's Hornets for Chris Paul...
that was agreed on by both teams...
and at the last minute...
vetoed by the NBA and David Stern...
at the request of angry NBA team owners...

how can anyone but a Laker's hater be happy about that?
definitely corrupt...

Business for the NBA is better when the Lakers are good, I don't see how they can do things like block deals, it's all on the up and up...……...:rolleyes2:

Like I said, Leonard ends up in LA, there will be a mass exit of casual fans from the sport, I'm reading it everywhere how people will be done.

They say that now, but you know how it works; if the Lakers get to finals, half the country will be watching to see if they fail, just like when the Patriots get to a Super Bowl.

The Lakers are the marquee NBA franchise. If they are competitive, they are going to garner a lot more attention and ratings than teams like Golden State and Toronto no matter how good they are. I'm still doubtful that Leonard ends up a Laker. He might end up in LA, though, with the Clippers. My guess is that it's very enticing to be THE guy for the Clippers with a deeper team instead of playing in LeBron's shadow. Even if Leonard goes to the Lakers they will have a record 10 minimum contracts. They are going to be putting all their chips on three guys with a bunch of scrubs. No room for injuries or fatigue for the big three.

The Lakers could run those three guys out there vs five from any other team and school them night after night.

They'll do what the Cadavers did several years ago; float through the regular season, end up as the 2 or 3 seed if need be, then roll everyone on the way to the finals.

You're talking about those three players as arguably all being top 10 NBA talent.

It's amazing how the Lakers continue to roll along thanks to the stupidity of other teams.

Their teams of the 1960's and 1980's were built on actual drafts/occasional role player free agents/trades, their teams since have been built by getting Shack to team with Bryant, then Bryant carried the team when Shack left, now LeBron goes there and recruits two top ten talents to come join him.

Nothing to see here, this is all on the up and up.

Kareem and Wilt were brought in from other teams back in those eras. For good or ill, trades and free agents are a big part of the game in every sport now. I don't see anything sinister about it. LA is a desirable place to live and play. Leonard is from California. Imagine how much he likes the Toronto climate. Players want to go to LA. They have the big market to support the payroll. The rules mitigate the ability of some teams to monopolize the best players but they can't stop guys from wanting to play there. And it is a risky strategy for the Lakers. They have already lost some guys waiting for Leonard to make his decision. Even if they sign him, their roster is going to be very thin. One injury away from a complete disaster. If Leonard was truly devious, he would string out the Lakers and then sign with the Clippers once all the best free agents are off the board leaving the Lakers high and dry.

The word is that the Warriors may not hang onto D'Angelo Russell, but seek to move him for prospects. He also could stay until Klay Thompson comes back sometime next year.

Earlier today Steven A Smith said "The Warriors dynasty is over, the Lakers are the favorites to win the title in 2020"...…….

He also said "The sun will come up tomorrow and Friday follows Thursday on the calendar."

I'm telling you, this sort of spot on analysis is spectacular, way to go out on a limb Captain Obvious.

I still think the Warriors have a championship or two with the core of Curry, Thompson and Green. It obviously will not happen in 2020, but somehow I doubt that they are done.

Championships won when the haters start to throw dirt on your grave and no one expects you to win are the sweetest.

Quite a few free agent signings have taken place already and quite a few experts have missed the mark on predictions. The pool of unsiignned free agents is shrinking, Maybe the Lakers are out of luck for their dream team and will end up as a mediocre good team.

Leonard gone - No way to replace him at this point due to Raptors being over the salary cap and few free agents left. Toronto interest in NBA drops to near zero to join the "No Team" Blue Jays. Neither is worth watching now.

WINTER IS COMING.

Hope the Leafs do well.

The 76ers just signed Ben Simmons to a 5 year $170 mil contract.

In 182 games (160 regular season and 22 playoff games) he has made 0 three-pointers.

Things continue to go south in LakerLand. Leonard played them in free agency and now they have lost Cousins for the season. Latest report is that they are trying to sign Dwight Howard! Ugh. I didn't even know he was still in the league. A total disaster with the Lakers back when he was in his prime. I can't imagine how awful he would be now. A major headache.

Holy smokes, I didn't know he was still in the league either.

Too bad about Cousins, man oh man is that guy snake bit...…………...

Dwightmare...he walked out on them and went to Houston...left them hanging big time...I don't want that 50 year old man...

good video...these are the kind of stories you want to see from athletes....he always was charismatic with that big smile...^&grin

He does seem to have a huge personality. I have seen many videos over the years of him meeting and greeting fans etc. Funny how that positive side never translated to being a good teammate.
