NBA Playoffs (1 Viewer)

This has been an epic series to say the least. And I know injuries are a part of the game, blah, blah, blah, but if the Celtics had KG, this thing was over in 5. He is THE best player on the Celtics, man do they miss him in the paint, especially from the defensive side of things.

That said, they should take care of business at home Saturday and Orlando doesn't scare me, but it will be a massacre vs King James and the Cadavers in the Eastern Conference Finals................

No doubt KG would have helped the cause, but it's hard to see anyone playing much better than Ray Allen and Paul Pierce in this series. They have been lights out. I was shocked at how well these guys shot the ball last year against the Lakers. Allen has gone to another level beyond that. If I were a Celts fan I would be worried about fatigue down the stretch even against Orlando. I'm not sold on the Cavs due to their lack of big time playoff experience. Let's see how they hold up when things get a bit tighter.

There are a lot Laker fans who are happy to be playing Houston instead of a dangerous Portland team that is tough to beat on their home court. Lakers win this series 4-2.

George,

Yea, with seven overtimes already, this has been the playoff's showcase series for sure, but I wouldn't discount Orlando so quickly. The Magic have been a good road team and I see this going 6 or 7 games, the reason again, no KG.

The King has his head in the right place and even though the Lakers have more talent, assuming they both get there, the Lakers will have their hands full needing a road steal to win the title.

That's just my opinion, Michael

GO LAKERS!

Michael,
The OT's are terrific, but as Combat pointed out, the Celtics "big two" (used to be the big three) are no spring chickens and you have to wonder how this series will effect them going forward (that's assuming they win tomorrow); that said, they were taken to 7 games by both Atlanta and Cleveland last year before waxing the Pistons in the Eastern Conference finals, so who knows.

I do know Ray Allen comes as advertised; wow is he sweet to watch, perhaps the best pure shooter I've ever seen.

Regarding a Cadavers/Lakers final (which is how it's shaping up) remember it was the Lakers, after coming here and beating the Celtics, who then proceeded to go to Cleveland and beat the Cadavers.

Those back to back road wins in my eyes made them the favorites, we'll see how things shake out.

Right now I've got to get ready for playoff hockey; Bruins/Whalers (oh sorry, Hurricanes................)

Game sevens in the NBA are usually disappointing for some reason. I hope we get a close game, but my guess is the Celts KO them early.

From your lips to Gods ears; speaking of playoffs, I just happy the Bruins finally won a series, on to the finals.............( I hope).

Doug,

I'm looking for a big effort from the underdogs.

I took Chicago +6 1/2.

I hope they play with the same intensity as the last few games.:eek::eek:

I don't need a win, just a close game,

Michael

If Gordon is 100% they may have a chance to at least keep things interesting. He looks injured and tired to me. The Celts are tough. This is a crazy series, but I expect the Celts to win. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns into a blowout.

Hated to lose that game, but the Bulls just couldn't hang close tonight.

I think the early foul trouble in the 4th hurt them badly.

Williams had 33, so I don't think he was too tired.

Great series though, most entertaining.

Michael

Lakers and Rockets now.

Okay, The Lakers are laying 8 1/2 to 9 points in game one Monday.

Can they cover against Houston?

Michael

The Celts are sucking wind tonight. The OTs may have taken it out of them.

Brutal loss for the Lakers. They played awful. Any team that gets physical with them has a chance to win. Also apparent that Derek Fisher is not the player he once was. He is getting scorched by younger and faster point guards. They are breaking down the Laker D at will because Fisher can't cover them. Bynum looks awful. I still think they win this series 4-2 because they can win one on the road and win out at home.

Brutal loss for the Celtics as well. That series with the Bulls took the wind out of their sails; had they won Game 6 like they should have (or game 1 if Pierce makes the second of two free throws) and had the ability to rest up, they would have been ok, but going from a game 7 Saturday to game 1 two days later was too tall of a task.

Looks like things are falling into place for the Cadavers to win it this year.................

Good to see the Lakers get a little chippy. Fisher lowered the boom before getting thrown out. The suspension for game 3 is overkill BS. The NBA is trying to take all the fun out of the game. The good old days of the NBA playoffs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7r6vXeOfyQ

Here is the Fisher video. He is actually a very nice guy - particularly by NBA standards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDX2ktK9OR4

"He is actualy a very nice guy".............lol. That's usually what the neighbors say about "the quiet loner who lived next door to me" that goes postal one day and shoots the neighborhood to pieces.

That was a incredible bush league cheap shot, I don't care how nice of a guy he is.

Maybe he thought the guy he drilled was his weasily team mate Sasha.

And as a Celtics fans, McHales closeline of Rambis was just as bad, if not worse, he could have seriously injured the guy, broken his neck or back on that one ............................

"When I tried to take off and run, he wasn't as close to me as I thought he was," Fisher said. "By the time I got to him, my arm was higher than it would have been."

Fisher said he wasn't trying to make a statement that the Lakers are going to play a rougher style than normally associated with them, but added, "We want to win the championship. Whatever it takes to do that, we're willing to do."

I think Fisher really is a "good guy".

I have followed his career from L.A. to Utah to Golden State and I really believe the above quotes.

I really think he is a class act.

The referees let the game get out of control and the players took advantage of what was being allowed.

Let them play!!!

Gonna be a battle tonight, the refs better step up early and get control.

Celtics got blown out tonight by the Jeckle and Hyde Magic, who looked like world beaters in game 1, like a team that was happy with being up 1-0 and just wanted to go home in game 2 and like titans tonight.

Oh well.

Yea, the Celts looked anemic tonight, but, that's home court for Orlando.

I got lucky on that game but I also took the Lakers -1 point and it's a close one LA43-H42 right now

I'm getting tired of Artest, he's going to lead the leauge playoffs in ejections.

I'm glad the Lakers drummed them tonight.

I agree, as a Lakers fan, very happy. I think Artest has lost his cool and sounds like Yao might be out for Game 4. Regardless, Lakers are starting to get the engine going. They are going to need it for Denver and then if they get to the Finals.
