Gonna be hard to pick against OK, especially if Hield stays so hot. If today's games don't feature an upset, then it will be a #2 against a #1 in the Final. Not bad as quality tends to win through. Love to see the Cavaliers get in, but feel NC is more likely. At the same time, I think ND has a better chance to upset NC than the Orange does beating Va. At any rate, I hope to see the Big 12 vs the ACC in the Final. -- Al

Nope, Big East all the way! It's a travesty that the Orange are in the ACC (a conference I've always disliked for their arrogance) but that's what money has done to college athletics.

Conference jumping sucks but it is a fact of college athletics. I will never forgive UMd for jumping to the Big 10, and it was ALL money, but I will still follow them. The ACC is hated by many for their success in basketball, much as many hate the SEC for their football success. -- Al

OU demolished Villanova earlier this year when they played, so true to form, Villanova will win the rematch and I'll want to smash something.

If it's Villanova vs NC in the final, I'm out.

If it's Villanova vs Virginia in the final, I'll watch and pull for Virginia.

If it's Villanova vs Syracuse, I'll watch and pull for Syracuse.

If it's Villanova vs ND, I'm out.

I really hate it but it's all about football. Syracuse and UConn should still be in the Big East but I'm glad that it was resuscitated as a basketball only conference.

I will let you know how it comes out ^&grin

I would love a Syracuse vs Villanova final. An all Big East final, no matter what anyone says.

Was a big fan of the Thompson/Ewing Georgetown teams, was happy to see a local kid from MA go on to star at Georgetown and then in the NBA, still can't wrap my head around how they lost in the finals to Villanova.

Some wounds never heal.

Coach Thompson built a great program that has fallen by the wayside.

Too bad.

That was a great final in every way. The only one better was the NC State one. I think the year Nova won, there were three Big East teams in the final four.

As I've said before, the NC State win over Houston is my favorite college b-ball moment, but the Nova win over Georgetown is a close second. ^&grin -- Al

It was one of the most unexpected results in championship history.

Early impression; How did Syracuse get this far into the tourney? Turnovers and lousy shooting is a dangerous combination. We'll see if the Cavalier defense keeps them down. -- Al

End of game impression; Orangemen took UVa apart in the 2nd half. Syracuse took UVa completely out of their game. BIG upset. Congrats to the Orange. -- Al

Down 16, they go on a 29-8 run to win the game.

19-13 and no business making the tournament, yet they move on to the final four.

Absolutely unbelievable.

They probably cost me a grand............thanks a lot Orangemen.............

That is freakin' unbelievable. I figured they were toast when they were down by double digits in second half. Now, it's up to ND.

Agree about Syracuse making the tourney. Shouldn't be there. I should have seen the upset coming because on the 2 or 3 occasions I saw UVa play this year, they had cold stretches like tonight's. Never thought UVa would lose this one.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Just about set for the Elite 8 and 4 of them will be ACC teams. Because of the brackets, the ACC is guaranteed 2 teams in the Final 4 but no guarantee for the championship game. There is still a chance for an all-ACC final, but no give me's as the opposition is outstanding from the South and the West. Good chance the Final 4 are all #1 seeds. That will be worth watching if it happens. -- Al
Well, so much for the #1's. Only NC left as their game gets under way against the Irish. -- Al

You can't say they shouldn't have made the tourney: they've proved they belong there.

Come on; they were 9-9 in the ACC, lost their last three games of the season, had an RPI of 71............they weren't even ranked in the top 50, nevermind the top 25, they had zero business being in the tournament................the NIT, yes, the NCAA, no way, no how.

They caught a massive break when Michigan State got knocked out, then another break when Seton Hall lost; they played Dayton, Middle Tennessee and Gonzaga before Virginia and it took a complete and utter meltdown by Virginia at that.

Men's basketball is a shell of it's former self and this just proves it, they'll probably win the whole thing now.......................

Well, it's NC vs Syracuse and OK vs Nova. Pretty sure NC takes the Orangemen unless the Orange can channel their inner 1983 NC State mojo. OK and Nova have me stumped. I'd prefer OK, but Nova is capable. Either way, that should be a good game. -- Al

So with UNC and Syracuse, you've got two schools with academic scandals brewing right now, I'm sure the NCAA is thrilled with this match up........:rolleyes2:

It has shades of Villanova/Georgetown all over it; UNC has beaten Syracuse twice already this year and we all know how hard it is to win a third time, we'll see what happens.
