Some early upsets..didn't see Yale winning, when was the last time in the tourney?? I think they were still using crab baskets for rims!!! and Duke had to really sweat it out in their game until the end to grab a win, love the madness of march!!...Sammy
Yale got it's first tourney win and are now playing Duke. Yale is getting a lesson as Duke leads 48-25 at the half. Yale is totally outmanned and Plumlee hasn't even been a factor for Duke.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Yale is a gutsy team. They came back from the 1st half drubbing to close a 27 point deficit to 4 points in the last minute but couldn't quite pull off the upset, losing by a final score of 71-64. Another good game. -- Al

UK goes down to IU by 6. Nothing from the UK front line. Been a problem all yr and it caught up to them again. :rolleyes2: Chris

Tough game, Chris. IU destroyed UMd in the regular season. Guess they're better than I thought.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I still can't believe Michigan State loss to Middle Tennessee State? If you are going to lose to a directional school make it North or South, or at the very least East or West.

UMd in an ugly game against Hawaii. Terps lead by one at the half, 28-27. Usual season-long plague of problems, ie., turnovers, lousy rebounding, plus 0-8 from 3-point range. Terps have been outrebounded 18-12 and an unbelievable 11-1 on the offensive boards. Jeesh. -- Al

Been away most of the weekend attending a show in PA, getting caught up with my brackets.

In short, they are toast..................I had Kentucky and Oklahoma in the final (yeah, my two favorite teams, so whatever..................), Kentucky is already out. Had Villanova and Michigan State in the elite 8, they are both out, had my East and Midwest brackets are toast.....................Kentucky, West Virginia and MSU all out for me.

I would have been better off throwing 68 names in a hat and picking out two..............Middle Tennessee what?..........Northern Iowa who?..............Stephen Austin which?................Little Rock wha?.............What a hot mess..............

UMd played a bit better in the 2nd half and won 73-60, even though they ended up 1-18 from 3-point range and were outrebounded, as usual. Won the game at the foul line, going 28-31 (Trimble 13-14). Now on to the Sweet 16 and Kansas. Oh joy.:rolleyes2: -- Al

A win is win, and at this point it seems the underdog title is a better position to be in, so bring on Kansas, we have just a good a chance as any to win...Sammy

You don't see chokes like this often but Northern Iowa just blew a 12 point lead in the last 33 seconds of the game to Texas A&M, as A&M went on a 14-2 run. Now in OT. -- Al

Unless I can't read anymore, Villanova won big today.

Yup, I read the score wrong, my bad.

So, I'm 4-0 in round two in the south, if Texas A & M pulls off the miracle win, I'll also be 4-0 in the second round in the west.

I went 1-3 in the second round in the midwest, could go 2-2 in the second round in the East if Xavier can hold on and if not, I'll go 1-3 there as well.

What a mess............

Texas A&M pulls it out in 2OT's, 92-88. UNI will remember this loss forever. -- Al

Just noticed that the ACC has 6 teams in the Sweet 16.{eek3} -- Al

GW is in action tonight at Monmouth. Go Colonials!

We will be clipping some Hawks wings tonight.

Also just noticed that the way the teams are scattered that 6 of the Elite 8 could be ACC; the Final 4 could be ALL ACC, and of course, the championship could be all ACC. Of course, those chances are real slim but the odds are the championship game will have an ACC team in it, again. -- Al

Rich, if they bring back memories of our old DC day, it will be a loss ^&grin

Al:

That was one of those games where talent was able to overcome mistakes. Hawaii was clearly out-gunned but they hung in there by capitalizing on UMd's turnovers. Once they went cold on offense the Terps were able to pull away.

I am looking forward to the Kansas game.

Jason, the Terps have a bad habit of letting the opposition stay close. Hawaii actually led 41-39 with about 10 minutes left, when the Terps finally went on the kind of tear they are capable of, a 14-0 run that basically finished the game. The Terps really are going to have their hands full against KU. They can't afford a slow start or sloppy ball handling, both season long characteristics of this team. They will need their A++ game to have a chance. -- Al
