Good, very good win by GW tonight. They were awesome on the boards tonight and just kept scoring where Monmouth could never really get in the flow. Onto the quarters. A win there and they get a trip to MSG.

It's onto the Final Four as the Colonials prevail over the Gators!

Next stop, MSG. Playing in a National Semi is the greatest moment in GW basketball history.

Time to get tickets!

Yeah great..........anyway, the Sooners move on to the elite 8, Texas A & M ran out of miracles.

Two more very good games on tap for tonight.................

Terps are gone. Played a great 1st half and then forgot to play the 2nd. As usual, they were badly beaten on the boards and combined with another atrocious long-range shooting game (5-25 from 3-point land), they were convincingly beaten by Kansas, 79-63. Oh well, Opening Day is real close.:wink2: -- Al

A good season overall for the Terps, it's been a long while since they have been this competitive just over matched by a better Kansas team tonite but they gave Kansas all they could handle in the first half, but most teams are not going to win by only playing 1 good half :( oh well, maybe next year...Sammy

I had Kansas and Villanova meeting in the south final, Oregon vs the Sooners in the West, so yesterday I was 4-0.

Quite a different story in the East and the Midwest, had Kentucky and Xavier in the final, both are out, Virginia and MSU in the other final, MSU is out, only Virginia is still standing.

My pick to win it all is still alive, OU..................

Sammy, I'm glad the Terps won so many games this year, but ultimately this team, with it's talent level, should have done better. My jury is out on Turgeon. Next year will be a real test, as Turgeon is going to have rebuild. He will lose most, if not all the starters from this year's team. We'll see what talent Turgeon has.:wink2: Anyway, a 27-9 record is nothing to be ashamed of, and the Sweet 16 is no disgrace, so I'd say it was a good year, just not great. -- Al

OU looked really good. Playing great ball at the right time. Should take Oregon. -- Al

To me, Duke and Maryland never looked like they had a chance, Oregon and Kansas seemed too dominant.

I've managed to climb to 36th place in my bracket group. That may not seem much to you but I started out around 60 (105 players).

Yep, little doubt they were both over matched last night. -- Al

Virginia advances to the Elite 8; I picked them, Kansas, Villanova, Oregon and OU, according to the tracker in my pool, I'm sitting in first place right now.

That will probably change, although the whole world had MSU going to the elite 8, but I had Kentucky while loads of people had North Carolina.

Still, sitting pretty right now, we'll see what happens tomorrow and Sunday, I could have 3 of the final 4 in play, I'd really be in good shape should that happen.............

Notre Dame with the gift wrapped win to advance to the Elite 8; I'll fully admit I'm no expert on basketball, but both of those steals at the end looked like fouls, specifically the last one. If that's not a text book case of a reach in, I don't know what a reach in is..........................but what do I know.

Plus Wisconsin beat Kentucky last year thanks to that big, goofy, lumox center they had, so adios to them....................

Just about set for the Elite 8 and 4 of them will be ACC teams. Because of the brackets, the ACC is guaranteed 2 teams in the Final 4 but no guarantee for the championship game. There is still a chance for an all-ACC final, but no give me's as the opposition is outstanding from the South and the West. Good chance the Final 4 are all #1 seeds. That will be worth watching if it happens. -- Al

OU is the most well-rounded team left. They shoot well, make use of good shot selection, rebound on both ends and play solid defense. North Carolina is next in my book, so I am thinking it will be OU versus NC in the final.

Oregon is getting a major butt-whipping right now {eek3}

What's with that puppet halftime show. I thought that was pretty funny. I absolutely love Kenny Smith as an analyst.

Oregon keeps coming but they just aren't cutting the OK lead by much. Cut 5 off the lead in 12 minutes. 13 points to go with 8 left. OU needs a big momentum swing. -- Al

Nope. Hield comes up huge and it's the Final 4 for OK. -- Al

Great win by Nova and the Big East! Plus it preserves the bracket. I've moved up to 29th.

Sorry Pat :redface2:

I'm in first place still in my pool, there are 181 people in it, I am the only one who picked OU to win it, another person has Villanova winning it.

I've got Virginia winning tomorrow; according to the guy running it, if Virginia wins tomorrow and OU gets to the championship game, I win even if they lose as I'll clinch first place with OU getting to the final.....................we'll see how it shakes out.................and yeah Pat, I'm a guy from Boston who loves the Sooners like we talked about that one year at OTSN......................:wink2:
