NCAA Football 2024 (4 Viewers)

Texas is just not the prime time team they were of the last 3 years. Tired of typing this, but Quinn had an all pro line and also had 5 deep receivers, all of who are in the NFL and playing many minutes. That helps a QB more than anything. Additionally, the defense is hit or miss, good ends, one great linebacker, one decent free safety. Exposure on corners and interior line.

Now, I will say, if A&M plays like they did yesterday at SC, in Austin, Texas has a chance.

I still think Georgia is going to be a thorn through the end of the year and I don't discount Lane at Ole Miss, he has something more this year than in year's past, they are winning and pulling away in close games. All of that said, if Ohio St continues to clinically beat everyone, I am not sure how you stop them and they will have home games.

I also think Sark is missing something in his own gameplan this year, they are seemingly predictable and I do think he is getting outcoached on play calling, needs to hire an OC.

Did anyone see the Texas State Trooper and the South Carolina receiver incident?? Good lord, some people take this way too seriously. I will tell you, typical Aggie behavior.

Just saw it and what the trooper did was a blatant confrontation with the player. The players acted with more restraint and composure than the officer. Just imagine what it's like when he pulls someone over on the hwy.

Honestly, I think the guy should lose his job or at least a severe suspension. Obviously no audio, but he really looked like he initiated the contact and incident. Nutty for sure.

On that game, how does SC blow that lead, they had the Aggies literally tarred and feathered. You have to work hard to lose that lead, and that is taking nothing away from A&M, but in all sincerity, when you are up 4 TD's, you contribute to the loss, it is not all roaring comeback.

Be happy A & M pulled that game out, I see where Texas fell 7 spots to #17, if they knock off Texas A & M, they'll blow past a bunch of 1 and 2 loss teams and get into the top 12/playoffs.

Mark it down.

In pen.

Last year I would agree, this year not so much. Arch could have a Heisman game but I just don't see enough horsepower on the outside. I am not saying they can't win that game, but playoffs, no, they would get iced out by the stupidity of the "other" conference rules.

Not to be a jerk, but I am not sure any ACC team this year can beat a team in the SEC come playoff time. Additionally, they can't beat the elite Big 10 teams either and I include Ohio St, Indiana, Michigan, Oregon and USC in that list this year.

Just an opinion, but I really am not a fan of the playoffs and I am not saying that as a Texas fan, saying it as a football fan. I would rather just go back to bowls and schedule the correct games between the last standing elite teams and call it a day. I don't believe in this lightning in a bottle bs, never have. It is a long season and if you are 11-0 versus 10-1 at that time, then those are the 2 that deserve to be there by attrition. PLayoffs have nothing to do with fairness, all about money. Same BS in college basketball. And I go back to many of battle tested undefeated or 1 loss #1's who finally have a bad day and then lose. Horsepuckey - aka Running Rebels of 1991 , aka many a UCLA teams, aka Kentucky teams, etc. If you want to really think a tournament is best for college football OR basketball, then start it Week 3 - 2 warmup games, then game on.

Couldn't agree more, it's indeed all about money. The bowl games that used to mean so much are now totally meaningless, numerous kids sit them out as they are either transferring or don't want to get hurt.

A 12 team playoff=$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I think the two best teams out there now are tOSU and Georgia, pretty sure they will meet in the championship game as long as they both win their conference championship game.

Kirby Smart is the new Nick Saban. Complete package as a coach, has a solid staff and lets them coach. He also signed some incredible talent. I really like the guy, just hate losing to him.

He sure is, his program is a wagon.

This is not going to be vey popular but James Franklin should have taken his ill gotten gains and been on his way.

To be fair, Brian Kelly is even worse.

I think Franklin is a good paper coach, just can't seem to find his own in the big moments. Kelly, ugh.

I don't like the buyouts in that they are seemingly egregious. Originally they were protection against the whims of wealthy boosters, now they are nothing more than bad business and costly. The coaches are being paid enough to bear the risk of failure.

I don't see how any public university official has the authority to contractually obligate a school to pay tens of millions to a football coach they have fired. That should be prohibited by law. Penn St is closing numerous campuses around the state while paying $50 million to get rid of Franklin. That includes a newly built nursing school at a time when there is a shortage of nurses. At a minimum, it demonstrates societal priorities that are way out of whack.
