Someone needs to explain to me how Miami is being handed 3 million dollars in "travel expenses" to the national championship game?

It's their home stadium, it's 20 minutes from their campus.

Oh right; they have to fly Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin and the rest of their alums in to stand on the sideline during the game.

Thiug U. Otherwise know as the U. Or moden day Murderes Row.

It's great to see the Quacks being taken to the woodshed tonight. Team Nike is funded by Phil Knight who is funded by the Chinese sweatshops. Indiana is a real juggernaut.

Love Coach Cignetti's post game comment when asked about the upcoming championship game said "I just wanna go crack a beer."

Agreed, Indiana is great and Nike is funded by sweatshops.

But who cares so long as my school benefits.

For example USC just renewed their apparel deal with Nike at approximately $80 mil through 2036.

WOW, Indiana really looked good, hope they keep this up, it is a special season for them. Disciplined kids, representing their school very well, it is nice to see. I may be biased against Miami, but this is a good story. What I saw the other night from Miami didn't resemble discipline nor respect, I saw a lot of dirty and late hits, the clothesline on the quarterback may have been the worst I saw all year. IMO, the kid should have been thrown out, it was a purposeful hit, no excuse.

Go Hoosiers.

Tom:

Great post, that clothesline was clearly intentional and it was a great representation of what Miami was and is.

I've watched so much football these last couple of weeks that I may not even watch the championship game. No skin in who wins. Hard to care. It makes me a little suspicious that Indiana has gone from a bottom dweller to unbeatable this season.

Congrats to the Hoosiers. WOW. Dominated first half, give credit to Miami adjustments second half, but Cignetti and Mendoza, probably the gutsiest 4th down call of the season! Exciting second half, and I would say the better team won. I believe they are the only school to win Nat. Championship in Football and Basketball with undefeated seasons. Wild!

Turned out to be a good game to watch. Interestingly Miami offense scored more TDs than Indiana. Miami got away, no calls by officials, with some very egregious holdings. Miami had a very good chance to win in the final two minutes. Congrats to Indy.

I didn’t watch every minute and could be wrong but they seemed to give up on that tactic in the second half. My first reaction when I saw those hits was “thuggery.”

When Indiana elected to go for the FG near the end of the game instead of trying for a TD I thought that’s some real Kyle Shanahan sh!t because if Miami scored (and they were driving), Indiana would have lost by a point. It worked out because of the interception but I thought it was a questionable decision.

You bring up a good point and I am admittedly a Miami Hater. That said, why do the Refs let them constantly get away with Late Hits, Def Holding, Off Holding, etc. They are a dirty team and I am convinced it is taught that way. IE if you can get away with it, then do it. I wish the Refs in their games would call it tight from the beginning, it would eliminate the activity if it was called enough, why have rules if you will not enforce them. I would like to see this and I could almost argue that had the Refs had any guts, Ole Miss would have played (and probably lost) Indiana in the title game.

I have been saying this for 40 years, if the Refs would take out some of the trash, there would be a lot less of this crap in the game. The game is competitive and violent as is, it doesn't need the dirt that Miami brings.

So did the blocked punt and resulting TD win the game for IN (the play of going for it on 4th and 5 notwithstanding)?

certainly didn't hurt at all! I think they had the ball bounce the right way in the end on a lot of fronts. I still think his run was something else, BUT, that blocked punt definitely came at a key time. Also the last interception was not by accident, beautiful defensive scheme, they literally tricked Alien Man into throwing that Pick.

The Indiana QB must be the nicest guy in sports history. He even "loves his mama very much" like the Waterboy. Great story that almost restores my faith in college athletes. When I read that his Dad didn't stand for the National Anthem, I thought uh-oh here we go but it turns out that is because his mom has MS. In contrast, the Miami QB hasn't attended a class in over two years. Somehow he "graduated" but is still on the team for two years. Imagine they let someone stay on campus for two years after he no longer attends the school. He doesn't seem like a bad guy either but someone riding the NIL gravy train.

Mendoza donates a good amount of NIL Money (both Brothers do) to MS causes and research. Seems like a good kid.

Has the Indiana coach smiled yet, asking for a friend.

If he ate a piece of charcoal, he'd crap out a diamond.

Good for Indiana, won with a bunch of no star recruits/a number of 22 and 23 year olds beating up on 18 and 19 year olds.

That's three years in a row the Big 10 (or whatever that conference is called) has won it all, Michigan, tOSU and now Indiana.

Much like the previous two winners, Indiana won't be sniffing a championship anytime soon, their formula worked this year, credit where credit is due.

Nice to see the #1 ranked team win it all too BTW, undefeated, so no controversy as to the winner, puts a bow on a very good college season.

Read the Ole Miss QB is suing NCAA for a sixth yr of eligibility.
I did too. It is an odd case as I think there are also other players involved. It used to be only way for 6 years was a medical redshirt, now there is some oddity whether JUCO or other types of less than 4 year colleges count. I think it has something to do with a former professional player in one of the sports was cleared to play (he is something like 25 or 26 years old).

I have one question, is the NCAA relevant anymore? Maybe Ole Miss should just play the kid and tell the NCAA to pound sand, what can they really do anymore for revenue sports such as Football or Basketball? We have gone to a minor league, that is arguably dictated by the SEC and BIg 10 first with input from the Big 12 and ACC. Look at the updates to the college playoffs being proposed - the parties in discussion are the SEC and the Big 10 along with ESPN. Where is the NCAA? I have always thought they were a fraud and when I found out they were sitting on $1B (yes B) worth of liquid assets, I threw up my coffee. Now, they have since been sued and I think that has changed, although it is too much detail to properly type here..........point - Why would a governing body all of a sudden be "rich". Again, what can they really do and why does anyone care or give them the time of day?
